Our Niece

Here she is, the newest member of our clan. She was born at 12:22am Friday the 6th of April. She was 7lbs 2oz and 20 inches.

This is her cousin, who just turned 5 in March.

And this is me holding her. She looks like she's smiling.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to those of you celebrate it and to those of you who don't, Happy Sunday.

My family doesn't celebrate the holiday. We haven't since we were all still kids and then it was more just for the hiding of the eggs and baskets and such. HD's family always gets together and has a big dinner. I haven't made up my mind yet if I'm going to his grandma's or not without him. There's still a chance that he could go. He hasn't gotten up yet this morning so I don't know how his eyes are. Yesterday they were barely pink, basically they just looked a little bloodshot. His cold is almost gone. He mostly coughs when he's talked for quite a bit. If he doesn't talk, like when he's watching a movie, he doesn't cough at all. So by the time we should be heading over there he may be well enough to go. If not, I'd have to go by myself and leave him here all alone.

I've gone to his family's events and gone out to their social events without him many many times over the years. But this time I don't feel right doing it. I'd be seeing our niece without him, and since she's his blood relative it just doesn't seem right. I know it's a silly thing but it's how I feel. And, again, I'd be leaving him here all alone. Every time I've done those events without him it's because he was either working or sleeping because he was going to work that night. It was never because he wasn't feeling well. I'd be thinking about him here by himself. Now he'd be just fine because he'd be able to be on his computer playing his games with his friends without once thinking he should get off to spend time with me. So it's not like he'd be moping around thinking poor me or anything. But still, he's not able to see his brand new neice and that's just sad.

Media quote of the day: It all started when the first present was given by the Pilgrims a long, long time ago. After that, everybody started giving presents... even the Easter Bunny started giving them 'til Santa slapped him with a lawsuit. - Angelica in The Rugrats.

I don't know, I guess I'll make the decision later when I'd have to start getting ready to go.

Nothing Much

So, he has a cold and pink eye now. Has it in both eyes. So far so good in me not getting it, he's had it since Tuesday and I've been checking my eyes constantly but nothings happened with 'em yet. He went to the doctor to confirm yesterday and she told him that if I didn't already have it then I will. Now I'm all paranoid. I wasn't before, since my eyes remained clear I was confident nothing was gonna happen. Now any little thing makes me think, "Yep, getting it now." My eyes had more goop then normal this morning when I first woke up so I thought it then of course, but they're still clear. Knock on wood for me people.

His youngest sister had her baby just after midnight Thursday night. She was 7lbs 8oz and 20 inches long. We haven't seen them yet because of him being sick and all. Normally we go to his grandma's for Easter but unless he's doing much better by tomorrow we still won't see them.

Nothing much else has been going on lately. At least nothing that I can write about on here, it involves the same sister and her snotty ways towards their mother. I'm gonna leave it at that. Because although they don't know about this site I still don't want to write about family that way, mainly in case they ever do find out about it and then read what I've written. I don't want to hurt feelings and/or cause problems between H Ditty and them.

Crybaby says Hi. He's up here on the desk and went to lay down in between my arms and one of his big paws swiped across the keyboard.

So that's it, short and sweet today. Maybe I'll have something better tomorrow, we'll see.

My poor hubby is sick

Poor H Ditty, he's all sick and coughy and stuff. He's gotten a cold twice now in the past 4 months or so. I'm usually the one getting sick. We've switched roles though, I haven't been sick since last summer, I think. It's been awhile anyway. Yesterday he sounded and felt better but today he's back down for the count. Oooh, speaking of down for the count the new Ultimate Fighter reality show starts tomorrow and a, hopefully, kick ass fight will be on Saturday on Pay-Per-View. Can't wait. But I digress. He's in bed right now saying he wants to get up so he can go to bed at a decent hour tonight but he's not moving like he really wants to get up.

I don't think I ever mentioned this before but he's taking a Spanish class. Hmmm, now that I write that it seems like maybe I did tell ya'll this. Oh well. So he's taking the class to help with his work since he has to deal with the public and our town is getting more and more Spanish speaking people either living here or at least driving through every year. For his class today he had to do a presentation (yep, I mentioned it because I bragged how he was so sweet in one of his presentations) on something Spanish related. One of the options was to see a Spanish language film. He went to see Pan's Labyrinth yesterday afternoon. I was jealous and asked if he'd go to the later showing with me instead and he ended up going to both showings. He had to say things about the differences in our cultures, etc. I haven't talked with him yet about how it went so I couldn't tell you. Anyway, that was a long ass paragraph just to say I went to see the movie that should have won best Foreign Film at the Oscars. But noooo, that German movie had to. Blah! I once again say....if it's still playing in your area and you haven't seen it yet it, hell even if you have, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!! You will not be disappointed.

Last year we went to
The Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, it was really nice and very informative. He did his presentation on some boys that gave up their lives trying to defend their school, as in the movie Taps in a way. He got an A on that one but then he was able to do it in English since it was a 1st year class. The one today had to be in Spanish and they're only in their 3rd year, they haven't learned all the tenses, etc. yet.

The dinner timer just went off a few minutes ago so I went to check on the food and then him. He had rolled over and pulled the covers over his head, I guess he's done for the night.

I am not ashamed to admit that I will cook up Hamburger Helper from time to time. Normally we do the Cheeseburger Macaroni. This time I decided to try the Bacon Cheeseburger. It's not bad, I don't taste any bacon but it's still pretty good. I'm gonna go finish my dinner now.

He's Home

The Brat Prince is back home. I tried to get some good pictures of his urn but I'm no photographer, maybe I can get H Ditty to take some better ones and I'll put those up, if not, these'll have to do.

This one is my favorite of the three.

He used to sit like this quite a bit. When the girl brought the book to us for us to choose which urn we wanted she opened it up and this was on the 1st page. We both at the same time pointed and said, "That's the one." Then she started flipping saying, "Are you sure you don't want to look at any of the others." We decided to go ahead and look and there were two at the end of the book that were nice. They were made of marble, one was a kitty laying in a curled position and the other was a kitty sitting up but not in this position. We agreed that this was the correct one for him. It most resembles what he looked like in life. It's made of bronze and it's heavy.

Our baby is home where he belongs.

Red Dots

So I had a doctor's appointment yesterday morning. A dermatologist doctor. Luckily all is well. Years ago I noticed a small red spot/dot on my arm. As time went on I got more and more red spots but I'd check online for skin diseases/cancers but nothing ever looked like what I had. But this last year a shit load of them showed up on my stomach and chest but they still didn't look like any cancer. But since so many showed up so quickly I decided to finally go see a doctor. As the week went on and my appointment got closer I started to freak out. Although I didn't really think I had any kind of skin cancer I still started to worry. I made HD come in the room with me just in case. I can't remember the name of it but basically it's just broken blood vessels. They're genetic so I guess some of my family has 'em but I've never asked any so I have no clue on that. But it's all good now, no more worries.

We went to see Blades of Glory on Friday. That was an absolutely ridiculous movie but it was funny as hell. We were laughing throughout the whole thing. If you like stupid movies then I say you really need to go see this movie and have a good time.

Oh my God! The shit that Matt Stone and Trey Parker come up with is pretty ingenious. HD's watching South Park right now and the Scientology one is playing right now. Too damn funny.

Anyway I'm beginning to bore myself and I'm paying more attention to South Park than anything else so I guess I'm gonna go.

It's Spring

The grass is turning green and the trees and bushes are budding. Our Magnolia tree's flower pods have broken open and fallen off. Can't wait for the flowers to come out. H Ditty threatens every year, at least twice, to cut it down. He did it for the 1st time this season last night. It's in between our house and garage and many of the limbs hang over the roofs of both. So of course they have to be trimmed quite often. Plus the pods, then the flower petals themselves falling off and laying all over the ground, sidewalk and driveway drives him nuts. I don't like it either but I love the tree and flowers when they're on it. That's when he threatens for the 2nd time. Then in the middle of trimming the limbs. Then again in the fall when it flowers again and the petals and pods end up all over the ground again. Then of course the leaves when they fall. Those leaves are BIG too.

Our neighbor's lilac bush/tree is budding also, love those too. Every year I want to go over and cut some off and bring into the house to make the place smell good but since we don't talk to them I don't think it's a good idea. Actually, they moved, there's new people there now. I haven't met 'em yet but I guess H Ditty met the man the other day. Still, don't think it would be such a good idea to do it though.

I like spring, it's my second favorite season. I wish the temp would stay about what it is in the fall and spring. Summer is too damn hot and humid and winter is too damn cold.

The best part of spring though is being able to open the windows and air out the house. Did that the other day for a couple days, it was great. Then the damn cold front had to come in and make me shut the windows and turn the heat back on. Sucked.

Oh well, it's on its way, that's all that matters.

TMNT

You know, when you're an adult going into a "kids" movie without any kids it's usually ok, depending on the movie of course. Take Disney movies, or Harry Potter movies, for example. These are made for adults too, you can go in without kids and feel perfectly normal.

Last night H Ditty and I went to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with his dad. No kids, just 3 adults. His nephew was supposed to go but he's grounded for a month (poor thing, he's only 5)so by the time he's out of juvie (is that spelled correctly?) the movie will no longer be in a good theater. So it was just us 3, I felt a little odd.

Turns out it wasn't half bad though. It was completely silly but for a PG kids movie it wasn't bad. I only watched a cartoon or two when it was on, my nephew who was around 5 when they were huge, would watch them when he was over but I hardly ever paid attention. I just remember pizza being mentioned a lot more. It hardly ever came up.

Anyway, that's been my excitement for the these last few days.

We're doing fine now for those of you who are wondering. We're sad without The BP, but we're doing fine. I put another photo up of him. Our friends in Canada sent HD an Email with a picture they took of him by our coffee table a few years back.

Media quote of the day:
Piece of pie. - Donatello
Mmm, piece of pizza pie! - Michaelangelo

This was not from the movie but from one of the cartoons.

I am The Brat Prince

Hello all, It's The Brat Prince here. I was finally able to convince my Momma to help me introduce myself to everyone.

My given name is Sid. Well, that's not entirely true either, that's a small portion of my name but because it's so unique and Momma doesn't want her family or friends to know about the site yet I can't put the whole thing out there. When my full name is googled only 4 sites come up so you'll have to be content with that.

As you can see I'm a gorgeous kitty. My coloring is ruddy, my fur is silky smooth, my eyes are a mix of yellow and green, mostly yellow and I have very soft touchable ears. I'm small and fast as lightning. I used to be able to jump from the floor to the top of the fridge. I haven't been able to do that for awhile now but then, I am 11 1/2 years old. I can still jump from one side of the kitchen, off of the garbage can, onto the top of the fridge though. The length of space is the same, if not a little longer, but since it's a little more horizontal rather than vertical it's easier.

I dislike my two little brothers. Momma and Poppa brought them in one day almost 7 years ago and they love to chase me and pounce on me. Crybaby is just too big for my little body to handle and I don't like him anyway. Pretty Boy, well, he's not too bad most of the time but sometimes I don't want to play so I have to hiss at him to get him to stop.

I like my little sister Whiskers though. She was brought in one day 8 1/2 years ago. We've always gotten along. When one of those boys would pounce on me and make me scream she'd come running ready to kick their ass. She didn't fight back too much when they'd do it to her but for me she was ready to put the smack down. She'd clean my head for me too and sometimes sleep with her butt or a paw touching me somewhere as if to make sure I was with her and ok.

Poppa wasn't a cat person, always considered himself a dog person until he met Momma and her two cats that had her at the time. They were pretty cool, I liked them too. One day not long after meeting Momma he bought her a coffee table book of cats and they were flipping through it together and they came across a picture of a gorgeous Abyssinian sitting on a pylon at sunset. He pointed at it and said, "I want one of those." The next day he went online and found a breeder just a couple towns over. They came in, took one look at me and said, "Yep, that's the one I want."

See how little I was at one time. That's an official size football helmet and I'm not much taller than it. Even fit inside it but Momma can't find the photo right now.

I was a cute little shit at the time, running all over the cat lady's kitchen and getting into everything. And when he brought me home I did the same at his home and because I was so damn adorable he denied me nothing. A couple months later he brought me home a playmate, a sister to hang out with. She got sick and died a few years ago, made Momma and Poppa very sad.

My favorite pastimes were leaping up onto that fridge and jumping up at the feathers they'd hang before me. I also loved stalking the feathers when they'd lay 'em down on the ground. I'd squat down, go very still so they wouldn't see me and then spring out and pounce on 'em and then run and hide and do it all again. Those dang feathers didn't hold a chance against me. Neither did that damn red dot. Even when it'd go half way up the wall, I still got it because I'm just that good. I love sleeping on top of Poppa's computer monitor, it's so warm and cozy up there. And at night the best place of all to sleep is in between the sheet and blanket curled up in the crook of Poppa's legs. I sleep with Momma too but only when Poppa isn't there because I'm nothing if not a Poppa's boy.

That's Poppa holding me in my favorite position to be held. When he or Momma would rub my belly and/or head I'd stick my left leg and paw up in the air giving them a "Hitler" solute.

I'd eat anything you'd put in front of me, well almost anything. I don't like corn chips but give me a Doritos and it'll be gone so fast you would think you imagined it being there. Popeye's Chicken, the spicy of course and bologna are the ultimate foods. M and P couldn't bring the chicken into the house without first locking me away so I wouldn't bug them the whole time they're eating. M never gave me any bologna but P always did. It still didn't make me stop bugging her for it though. But she got pretty smart and would only have it if I was occupied doing something else or I was locked away. Oh, don't worry about the "locked away" I mean that they would shut the door to the downstairs with me and my siblings upstairs. It's not like I was locked in the bathroom or a cage or anything.

Ooh, speaking of cages, I love the cat carrier. They can't bring it out without me wanting in it. Whenever anyone had to go to the vets and they'd bring the thing into the room I'd be the first on top of it, if the door was shut, or in it if it was open. They'd have to poor me out of it to be able to put the other one in. Loved that thing!

You may have noticed that I kept going between present and past tense. I can't help it, you see, I'm no longer here. As you may recall, M wrote how all of us got an upper respiratory infection and that I seemed to get hit the hardest. P took me to the vet and they gave me a different antibiotic to use along with different eye drops for my leaking eyes. It seemed to help, the infection went away and I wasn't breathing through a snotty nose anymore. But my breathing never did get better all the way. Although I wasn't stuffy I was still breathing hard and I still didn't want to eat. The vet told P to get me baby food and that's what M did. It was really good and I did eat it but not as much as they would have liked. But it did get me interested in food again so I did eat some of our regular food but again, not as much as they would've wanted me too. Momma noticed me seeming to lose weight and pointed it out to Poppa who agreed.

Yesterday morning when M's alarm went off I did my normal walking up her body to her head and top of her back and sat there. It's one of my ways of letting her know I'm hungry. After she hit her alarm a couple times she finally got up and I went to the end of the bed. Even though I heard her put the food in the dishes I didn't want any of it. After she finished getting ready for work she decided to try the baby food again. She put a spoon full in a bowl and it smelled so good I ate it all up but when she put a second scoop in I decided I was done and didn't even look at it, I just turned away and laid back down. My breathing was really hard before I ate and seemed a little harder afterward. M called P on her way to work asking if there was any way possible to have someone come in and relieve him for an hour or so at the end of his shift so he could take me to the vet.

Someone said she would but it turned out that the latest I could be seen was 3pm. The coworker, bless her heart, said she'd come in anyway. Turns out I was way sicker than anyone realized. My lungs were full of stuff that was either cancer or a fungal infection. The vet really couldn't say for sure and recommended Poppa take me to a critical care specialist. So he called Momma and she left work to come meet us. When she got there I was in the back being checked out some more. The doctor showed them my x-ray and all the spots in my lungs and the fluid that was surrounding them. All of that is what made it so hard for me to breathe. The right side of my liver didn't look right. In the doctor's opinion she figured that was the cancer mass and what was in my lungs was the spreading of it. Also my kidney's didn't look very good either. She was 99.9% sure it was cancer but the only way to make it a 100% was to give me a mild sedative and stick a needle between two of my ribs and take a sample of the fluid or do a biopsy. Momma and Poppa said that since three doctors thought it was cancer and they definitely didn't want to put me through any more tests that they were ok with what they had already. Especially since even if they got the 100% confirmation it wouldn't matter. My quality of life would not get any better. I'd just be put through weekly doctor visits and may only live a very short while longer.

Since I had a wonderful, spoiled filled, love filled, adored filled life they were ok with letting me go and see my sister and Momma's two kitties she had when they first met, who also became my brother and sister.

I died shortly after 6pm Friday the 23rd.

They will miss me and mourn my passing but they are happy that I will be jumping to my hearts content again. They will be happy that I get to see my brother and sisters again and tell them how much they're missed and loved still. I will miss them too but I'll be watching them and making sure they're looking after my other sister and two bratty little brothers.

Adieu
To my few steady readers. If you haven't gone to Dan's site yet then please do so soon. He and his lovely wife are doing a walk for suicide awareness. For those of you who've been reading since the beginning you know that I have a friend who committed suicide. Here's the post for those of you who haven't been around that long. He's got a link to donate. If you can, even if it's just $5.00, please do so. If you can't, please still go and wish him luck in his comments.

Computers Part Two

Not only do I need my own computer I need time to get on here and write AND have something to write about.

Wish me luck, we're going out tonight with friends for one of their birthdays. Going for dinner and drinks, hopefully something will come out of it. But I probably won't get a chance to write about until Thursday at the earliest.

See you then.

Pretty Boy's trip to the vet and Whiskers gives me a scratch

So the other day I mentioned how Whiskers was sick. This is Whiskers. She couldn't keep her right eye open because of the sickness but you can see why her nickname is Whiskers, look at those long ass things.

She had a cold or upper respiratory infection. We thought she was getting better so we didn't take her to the vet. And of course all the others have gotten sick and she's still sick. Pretty Boy was pretty bad off so H Ditty took him in. HD called me on my cell when he was taking him in. Pretty Boy CANNOT stand riding in the carrier, let alone the car. He gets quite upset over it. Listen to the clip to hear them talking to each other. You'll have to have your sound up, maybe all the way to hear, I did.

He is so damn pretty. Too pretty to be a boy kitty.

Gabcast! Pretty Boy's trip to the vet #1

Oh yeah, in it you hear his real name, Pretty Boy is just his nickname.

The vet gave a large bottle of antibiotics, enough to give to all four. Technically she couldn't give a prescription for the others since she didn't see them, but for the dose needed per poundage of cat the bottle is definitely large enough to give all of them enough medicine for a week. All but The Brat Prince seem to be doing better. They're still wheezing and sneezing some and their eyes are draining but nowhere near as badly as BP's. He wasn't as sick as Pretty Boy when he was taken in but then BP seems to have gotten it last. Plus he's the smallest out of them all so I think it hit him harder when he finally did get it. Also, I think because he's not sneezing the snot out of his nose it's staying longer with him. All the others sit and sneeze over and over blowing snot all over the damn place, including on me and in my face a few times. Talk about GROSS!! But BP isn't doing that, he's just laying there wheezing, sometimes breathing out of his mouth.

And of course none like taking their medicine but Pretty Boy and Cry Baby take it the best. Whiskers and The Brat Prince fight like crazy. They fight hard enough that we have to wrap a towel around them to hold their crazy ass strong legs down. Friday morning I got a treat. I was standing there in my sleep shirt, bare legged, holding Whiskers in the towel. HD goes to grab her head to put the syringe in her mouth and she immediately starts to squirm. She wiggled right out of the bottom of that damn towel and right down my legs. Scratched the ever loving shit out of me. See. This one is on my left thigh. It's about 3 inches across, with a tiny little one to go along with.

And these two are on my right leg. The smaller is almost healed but the longer one isn't and it's a full inch longer than the one on my left leg.

They hurt like no body's business. But I couldn't scream because I didn't want to freak them out.

Then, Friday evening while giving them their night time dose I get another scratch. I think it was Whiskers again but it could've been The Brat Prince. This time it's across my chest. I tried to get a picture of it but none came out good enough so I deleted them. But it looks like the scratch on my left leg. Just as hurtful and just as angry of a scratch. I can't wear most of my shirts to work because they'll show it off.

But that's ok, I planned on going clothes shopping this weekend anyway. I got 6 new tops that you can't see it at all, so it's all good now.

I was going to use the lyrics from Ted Nugent's Cat Scratch Fever but they're pretty boring so I scratched that idea. HA! "scratched that idea" did you get it? Hmm? Did ya? Yeah, it was pretty lame I know. Sorry.

EDIT: Fair warning, I don't know when I'll get on next, it might not be until Wed. or even Thursday. I will try to make it sooner though. I still have catching up on my blog reading to do also. Don't know when that's gonna happen. I started it yesterday but I have a feeling it'll get backlogged again. Anyway, I'll get back as soon as I can. Thanks for sticking around.

Longer Weekend Update

So, let's see.

As I mentioned yesterday, Friday we stayed home because of the weather. Where my work is and the 1st street that takes me home it's about a mile. That mile took me 10 minutes to get through. Where it usually takes me about 40-45 minutes to get home it took me an hour and 15 minutes. And it wasn't snowing or at least not really snowing. The snow that was falling was barely snow. It was that the wind was so strong and fast that it was picking up the really, really light snow on the ground and buildings and blowing it horizontally. Many times you couldn't see more than 5 car lengths in front you. It was also blowing drifts onto the streets. In many places you couldn't see where the street and the curb connected. So yeah, no friends over and no going out.

Saturday morning we cleaned the basement (which for those of you who don't know, it's basically our living room). Then he went with a friend of ours to go buy another friend's Jeep while I laid back in the tub and read for awhile. After he got home we hung out catching up on the shows until it was time to get ready to head out for dinner and the show. We went to Outback and waited for an hour for a table By the time we got seated and our food ordered it was 8:30. We stayed local instead of heading into the city to eat so we had to leave and be on the road no later than 9 to make it to the show with time to spare. If we left after 9 then it'd be really pushing it. We let our waitress know that we had to rush and she was a great help. We got out of there at 9:03. I had H Ditty drive because he never gets tickets. For one he hardly ever gets stopped even when he's flying down the road. For two because of where he works he gets out of any stops that do happen. He tells me all the time to say who/where my husband is/works in case I ever get stopped. Don't know if I ever will. But then, I haven't been stopped for anything in a very long time.

Aaanyway, he drove and got to Caged Dames in record time. We used the valet service to expedite things rather than try to find a parking spot ourselves. I figured the theater was going to be small but was completely surprised on how small it turned out to be. Made me think of Friends when we walked in. But unlike Joey's plays, the place was sold out and this one was good. We both enjoyed ourselves. I'm not sure which song was my favorite. The one that comes to mind though is Little Limping Rat. I also loved I'm Typist/Guard, especially the very end.

I loved Warden Hope, Blondie and mostly Schnitzy. Then Trixie and Big Lorraine. There were a some times when we couldn't hear the words because the music got loud but that's ok, that only happened a few times. They're trying to get to New York and had a donation basket so we tossed some money in to help 'em out.

Afterward the cast and audience sang happy birthday to their trumpet player who just turned 21. We had a great time.

Sunday we slept in some, watched some shows then he left to go get my cake and cards. I straightened up upstairs in case two people needed the bathroom at the same time one could use the one upstairs. We ended up staying up there the whole time anyway. My parents, his mom, his littlest sister, his other sister, her son, her boyfriend, his stepmom (his dad hurt his back so didn't come), Jim, Amy and their two kids and our other friend, Caryn all came over. We hung out while waiting for the pizzas. Then I opened my cards and gifts. Jim and Amy gave us a $25 gift card and their oldest daughter painted some figurines for each of us. She painted me an orange kitty that represents my most favorite of kitties ever who is no longer with us. And she painted H Ditty a bulldog. Got me some money from his dad and stepmom and some jewelry from Caryn. She gave me a bracelet, ear rings and necklace set. My parents don't do money or gifts, they have way too many family members to do that for anyone but the grandchildren. His sisters and mom are dirt poor right now so no gifts from them. His nephew also painted us some figurines. He painted me a purple snake, although he thinks it's a snail, and he painted a pink crab for HD. I think I'll take a picture and post it one of these days.

We played Pictionary. I was a captain and Jim's oldest daughter was the other captain. Her team won. But that's ok, we had all had a great time.

Everyone was out of the house by 8:45 except for his mom and youngest sister who came together. They finally left around 10ish. He had his homework for his Spanish class to take care of and I realized I needed to do laundry for this week. We got into bed close to midnight.

Last night the youngest sister came over and he cooked up some steaks for dinner. We watched the UFC fight from Saturday. There were some pretty good moves here and there but for the most part the fights were pretty boring compared to normal.

So that was my birthday weekend into Monday night recap. Told you I'd elaborate.

Quick Weekend Update

So yesterday was my birthday. Turned the big 37, time to change the little blurb at the top from 36 to 37.

I had a great weekend.

Friday we stayed home because the weather sucked. Jim, Amy and their kids didn't come by because of the weather. Smart move.

Saturday we went out to dinner and to see Caged Dames. That was a good time.

Sunday we stayed home and H Ditty threw me a party.

All this will be elaborated on at a later time/date. His youngest sister is supposed to be coming over for dinner. She should be here anytime now and he'll be starting dinner soon. I AM STARVING!

Talk at ya later.

Too damn funny

So yesterday I commented on how some people get to my site. That most of them get here by the media quotes I use. Today 3 people got here by the title I used a few entries back - the quote from Bridge to Terabithia.

The 1st from Bismark, North Dakota @ 12:15
The 2nd from Worcester, Massachusetts @ 2:58
The 3rd from Easton, Pennsylvania @ 6:34

I mean one a day sure but to have all three in the same day within hours of each other amuses me to no end.

So guess what HD did yesterday. Go on guess, I'll wait. Did ya guess? You're wrong. Heee

Aaannnyyyway, he's taking a Conversational Spanish class to help with his job. Yesterday for class he had to do a presentation about his dream home. Oh yeah, we've sort of talked about it over the years but never in terms of it actually coming true and haven't said anything about it in a really long time. Long enough for me to forget what we have and haven't talked about. But we are so in tune we're in total agreement of what we want. He stayed up later than me on Tuesday night finishing his homework for said presentation. When he came to bed he woke me up and asked me what my/our dream house is. I said a house in the woods on a lake. Then said a log cabin/house. With huge windows facing the lake. With two fireplaces, one in the bedroom and one in between the kitchen and living room that you can see from both rooms of course. With exposed beams and wood everywhere. He said he didn't get that elaborate but said the same thing as me. Log cabin in the woods on a lake. So last night when he got home from work he showed me his presentation. It of course was all in Spanish so he had to read it to me. It went on to describe the cabin, woods and lake. Mentioned it also being in the mountains, which I said was a given that's why I didn't say that last night, he knew. Then it went on to describe the things in the cabin such as tables, rugs, bed, closets, bathrooms, things in the kitchen, etc. etc. Basically words and phrases he's learned. At the very end there's a picture of me and it says above it that the most important thing in the house is his wife, Katrina, that nothing else matters if I'm not there with him. Isn't that just the sweetest? He also used a picture that's acceptable to me, which I said when I saw it. He says, "I know what I can use, don't worry." Love him.

And he just now called to make sure I got home ok. He has to work until 10 and the weather isn't the nicest out there. Love him bunches.

Hope I didn't make ya'll gag too much.

When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.

Kind woman, I give you my all, Kind woman, nothing more.

Little drops of rain whisper on the pane, tears of loves lost in the days gone by.
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong, together we shall go until we die.
My, my, my.
An inspiration is what you are to me, inspiration, look... see.

And so today, my world it smiles, your hand in mine, we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done, for you to me are the only one.
Happiness, no more is sad, happiness....I'm glad.

If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.

Nothing much to say but I'm gonna say it anyway.

I hate when I think of ideas for a post but by the time I get home they're all long forgotten. Sucks that I can't update at work.

My poor baby girl (Whiskers) is sick. She's got a cold. She's been sneezing for the last 4 days and her eyes are all watery. But other then that she's fine. She's still eating normally and her bathroom trips are normal. I wanted H Ditty to take her to the vet and get her checked out but since she's just sneezing he decided not to. So we're keeping our eyes on her until Friday which is his next day off. If she's better great, if she's worse he'll take her in.

I've lost a reader. My most steady reader for many many months was someone from Jacksonville, Florida. She/he would stop by every morning but the weekends between 5:30 and 6:30. I figured they'd stop by when having their morning coffee or when they first got to work. Anyway, when I hit the second week with the very long breaks in between posting they quit coming by. Oh well, maybe they'll come back one day. I have no idea who it was since they never commented.

Statcounter, it's a good thing and a bad thing. I've become addicted to it and now you can label the IP addresses so you don't have to remember who people are. I like it.

I love seeing how people get here from the searches. Most people end up here by the media quotes I do. But every now and then someone gets here by searching something that deals with a peanut head. There was one person who put this in "Peanut heart and abyssinian" which seems pretty weird, I was the 2nd site on the list. Then there's "peanut head bug" and this one "what does a peanut-head bug eat". I mean, what the hell is a peanut head bug anyway? And I love this one "a peanut on a piece of wood". What the hell is that all about? Goofy stuff I tell you.

We still haven't seen Reno 911 - Miami yet. There's no telling now when we'll get to see it. There's no way tonight, HD's not even home yet and we'll both be too tired to go anywhere. The same'll happen tomorrow. Friday our friends, Jim and Amy, will be coming by to bring our birthday presents/cards over and to hang out. I'm sure they'll be bringing their kids too so no movie then. Saturday we'll be heading to the city in the evening to go see Caged Dames. Then Sunday I have a feeling we'll either be going to one of his parent's homes or one of them will be coming over here for my B-day. Or we'll stay home and rest. In case you're wondering my family doesn't get together for birthdays unless they're milestones. The last one my brothers and parents came over for was my 30th. The next will be my 40th. We of course get together for all the kids' days, just not the adults' days.

Media quote of the day: [performing an anti-crystal meth song for a class of kids] You can monkey with a gibbon, You can fiddle with a bow / But before you snort that crystal meth, there's some things that you should know / Meth is made from antihistamines, in basement labs it's cooked / And possession is a felony, which means that you'll get booked / With a snort it zips right up your nose, and eats away your brain / It kills your sense of good and evil, and it makes you go insane / Here we go... / So don't meth with meth, Beth / Don't meth with meth, Seth / Don't meth with meth... The Oscars

So, we watched The 79th Annual Academy Awards last night. For the most part I was pleased. Loved The Departed so I was happy to see it win the top honors. But as far as I'm concerned Pan's Labyrinth was robbed! Robbed blind I tell ya!! Yes, yes I didn't see any of the other foreign nominees. But that doesn't matter, Pan's should've won, that's all there is to it. In fact, they should've won every category they were in as far as I'm concerned. And if you still haven't seen it yet shame on you. It's as good as I've been saying if not better. Isn't that right Natalie? You weren't disappointed at all in going to see it were you? So go on and get, all of you.

Now here's the thing that pisses me off. Well, annoys would be a better way of saying it. It annoys the ever loving shit out of me. When there's multiple people winning for a category everyone needs to make their speech short, very short, to give the others time to say what they'd like to say. There were so many people this year, hell, every year there's so many people, that are standing back just itching to get their time at the mic and almost as soon as they walk up the music starts up and they can't say a damn thing. I don't remember who it was or what they won for but in one of the groups the 1st guy to start talking was going so damn slow. He wasn't even trying to get through what he had to say to let the other guy talk. I think they even started the music on him at the end, if it wasn't right then it was right after he stepped back. I was practically yelling at the guy to just shut the fuck up already and let the other guy talk. But nope, no chance in hell for him. And if you're too damn selfish to move it along then you get with the others and make one speech for all of you and you damn well better make sure you leave enough time to get their loved ones in too, not just your own before the music starts up.

Nope, pissed, pissed was the correct language to use to describe what I am about this situation.

And once again, quit your damn clapping at the dead people. It's impolite on so many levels. But the main one is that the ones you don't know or barely anyone knows hardly get any claps. They're like, "oooh, no ones clapping, let's clap just to be nice" type claps. And then the ones like Palance and Boyle get loud claps. Yeah I know, everyone loves 'em, so do I, but everyone else deserves just as much recognition as those two. So dang it, hold your applause until the very end. Or better yet no clapping at all, have the moment of silence last throughout the whole damn picture showing time and the whole time after as they're heading into commercial.

Ok, I'm done bitching now. Had to get that off my chest.

Media quote of the day: My name is Ofelia. Who are you? - Ofelia
Me? I've had so many names. Old names that only the wind and the trees can pronounce. I am the mountain, the forest and the earth. I am... I am a faun. Your most humble servant, Your Highness. - Pan

[Referring to Costello] Do you want him to chop me up and feed me to the poor, huh, is that what you want? - Billy Costigan - The Departed

Damn, I had a productive day today, proud of myself I am

Well, no Reno 911 for us this weekend. He decided he didn't want to go anywhere last night. He was tired after working all day and the weather wasn't the best either. And we can't go tonight because the Academy Awards are on and the weather isn't the greatest again. So maybe we'll go tomorrow or Tuesday, we'll just have to wait and see.

Today was another early rising day for me. I woke up around 7:30 and couldn't fall back asleep. I snuggled with Cry Baby for a little while deciding on what I wanted to do and when. I knew I had to go do some grocery shopping but really didn't feel like it. Especially since we were supposed to be getting 2-3 inches of snow. Then I figured it'd be better to get up and get going now before all the asshats got on the roads and caused accidents. So that's what I did. I was up and out of the house and at the first store by 8:40. What I really needed was the pet friendly ice melter so I headed to PetSmart first but they don't open until 9 on Sundays. So I headed over to Target in the hopes that they might be open so I could wander around until 9. They were so that's what I did and ended up spending more than I should have. Shhh, don't tell H Ditty. But it was all stuff we needed of course. And when I thought about it I only needed a few staples from the grocery store and Target had what I needed so I got the stuff there. Ran over to the pet store and got a couple containers of the ice melters and headed home. I was back here before 10.

For those of you with pets and don't know about this stuff it's Simple Solution's Ice Melting Pellets. It's safe for paws and kids. It's also environmentally friendly and it's also 100% salt free so it's non-irritating and non-corrosive. Great stuff go out and get it. Hell, even if you don't have pets or kids it's still better than the salt shit that's out there. It's not cheaper though, I will say that. But it's completely worth it. It was a good thing I decided to get more of the stuff rather than blow it off like I was planning to before I ever left the house because while I was in Target it decided to start raining icy rain down all over the damn place. So I sprinkled almost a whole container down on the sidewalk and some on the driveway as soon as I got home.

After shopping I came on here and went to all the other sites I read that I never got around to adding to my list. But I finally did today. Hi Natalie and Dan you're over there now. Also added W, HDW and Fyrchk. Go check 'em out if you haven't before.

Then I played some poker online while catching up on my Dr. Phil. Don't judge, he's entertaining and as annoying as he can be sometimes he's usually right, not always mind you, but usually.

Yesterday I thought for sure I'd get tired and need a nap but that never happened. It did today though, I laid down (or is it lied down? I never can remember) around 3:30 and got up close to 4:30. I never really slept but I did doze and that felt good. Then I was a good girl and did some straightening up around the basement. Took the garbage and recycling out and put some more pellets down because the stuff I did when I first got home was all melted and gone and there was more snow coming down. I only did our stoop, steps and a little of the sidewalk at the bottom of the steps though.

So now I have to go pay some bills and think about what we'll have for dinner. I'm thinking Pizza, we haven't had that since Wed. night and I'm kinda jonesing for it.

I'm outta here.

Gavomited

Wednesday was H Ditty's mom's birthday. He and I took her out to dinner at a really nice steakhouse. She and I both had the surf and turf. The turf was wonderful as usual but my surf wasn't so great. The 1st lobster tail was pretty good but the 2nd one wasn't cooked all the way. I was only able to eat half of it and the last two bites I actually had to sip water with it to make it go down. Before I sipped the water I'd try to swallow and my gag reflex kicked in and made it come right back up into my mouth. The 2nd time I tried to swallow it did it again and I thought I was going to upchuck right there at the table. I should have just lifted my napkin and spit it out but it was a cloth napkin and I still had the rest of my steak and potatoes to eat and I wanted the use of it still. So that's when I sipped the water to make it go down. The 1st bite that happened with I just figured was a fluke but when it happened with the next one I was done with it.

When I told H Ditty a little later he asked if I was feeling ok, thought that maybe it'd make me sick. But I was fine then and fine the next day too. So it was just an unpleasant experience rather than a sickly experience. I asked his mom how hers was since she ate both and she said they were just fine, cooked all the way. So that's good, I would've hated it if she'd have gotten the plate with the uncooked lobster since it was for her birthday and all.

While we were finishing up our dinner a band struck up some music in the bar. We decided to go over and see them and have another drink while watching 'em. It was a 3 man band. They weren't bad, all cover songs though. Apparently they're there every Wednesday night. The singer looks kind of creepy though. While singing he's got this grin on his face and it's just sort of off putting.

Thursday HD called his two sisters and grandma to see if they'd like to get together and go over to his mom's house for birthday cake. They did so we bought some pizzas and an ice cream cake and took it over to her house that evening.

I love those women, I really do, but when they get together it turns into such a drama show. Every one of them needs to loosen up, not take what the other one says so seriously and literally. The youngest needs to grow up (she's the one having the baby) and show some respect to their mother. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

Last night was a stay at home and relax night. Although we were supposed to go see Reno 911 but he didn't get home from work until 7:40 so we stayed home. I was able to get on here and catch up on a couple sites and start in on a third before HD got home. Then he made us dinner - spaghetti. It was really good. Even better since I didn't have to make it. Watched a few comedy shows from Thursday night and then he went to bed. I came back on here and finished up the one site, read two posts on two other sites and then went to bed myself.

This morning he called at 7:40am and woke me up because he forgot two of the containers of spaghetti hanging in a bag on the kitchen door. He wanted to make sure they got back into the fridge. Since I was up I opted to stay up, figured if I got sleepy later I'd just take a nap. I read my email that I've also been (mostly) neglecting for two weeks. Double checked that my Ticketmaster emailed tickets for Caged Dames were there, they are. And then came here to finally update.

My birthday is Sunday the 4th and we're going to see Caged Dames the night before for my present. Not sure if we'll go to dinner around here of some place in Chicago near the theatre. I'm kind of hoping it'll be there. Dirk talked about this play last year and said how great it was and it made me want to go see it but we couldn't at that time. Then he brought it up again back in January I think it was and that was that. I went to check out dates and the last showing is the 10pm show on the 3rd and that was just karma working in my favor right there. I told HD about it and he was up for it so I bought the tickets and I'm really looking forward to going.

Well, I'm done rambling now. If you read this far thanks for sticking around I know it wasn't all that interesting of a post but it's what I felt like talking about, so thanks again.

Workin' My Ass Off!

So, boss lady has been out of the office since 10:30am Friday. When she's gone, hell even when she's there but really busy, they have me do some of her work to help her out. So I've been doing her billings, her change orders, her end of day reports, her certified payroll, helping new guy out, etc., etc, etc. Friday I didn't get out of there until 5:50, yesterday and today was around 5:40. But because of this I don't always get my own work done, at least not as much as should be done. But also because of this I definitely should be getting a damn good raise after my review.

I like how busy it keeps me but sometimes, like Friday, I feel like I'm a chicken with it's head cut off.

One good thing though is that I'm tired by the end of the day so I don't want to stay up late which mean I go to bed at a decent time which mean I get some pretty decent sleep. I was in bed by 10:30 last night. That's damn early for me. But I'm getting used to this early bed shit. Eventually I'll get it as early as 10:00, well, maybe I will, that's sorta pushing it.

Well, that's it, short and sweet tonight. I'm hungry and still have to make something to eat so I'm outta here.

Keep your mind wide open

I was going to apologize again for not updating but I think you all know why it's not happening so often and I hope you're ok with it and not upset with me. So from now on when I go for long stretches like this know that the first thing on my mind is to say I'm sorry even though you're not reading it.

Ok now that that's done, on with what's been going on.

Thursday night I had a candle party to go to. I had mixed feelings about going. It was for one of my coworkers and being new I wasn't sure if I wanted to go somewhere that I didn't know anyone or at least not very well. But on the other hand I really like the chick that was throwing it and I love candles. So I went. I had a blast, mainly because of another chick we work with. She was just completely giddy and was cracking jokes the whole night. I haven't ordered anything yet because I want way to much. So tonight or tomorrow I'll have to add everything up that I want and then start deleting items. I'm sure the initial cost is going to be several hundred dollars.

Friday night we went to see Bridge of Terabithia with HD's dad, stepmom, her sister and HD's nephew. It's a very good movie but don't let those ads fool you. They all talk about how "heartwarming" it is. Weeell, it's not a complete lie. It is heartwarming up until they rip your heart out of you near the end. I had tears just streaming down my face so did the other ladies and HD was all choked up too. But it is a good movie though, well worth watching.

Saturday we were supposed to go shopping for HD's youngest sister's baby shower on Sunday. I did the grocery shopping while he was supposed to be getting himself ready to go do the gift shopping with me afterward. I got home and he wasn't ready to go, he was still on the computer. Several hours later I say that if we're going we should leave now. But another hour passes and we still haven't left yet. So we blew it off to do Sunday morning. So Saturday we did the same as we did on Valentine's Day. Lazed around catching up on tv shows.

Sunday we got our asses out of bed to do the shopping. I went to Babies R Us for her gift and then stopped off at Barnes & Noble for a really cool Scrabble game. He was working on a poem that his mom created that she wanted us to print on some fancy paper so she could frame it when we got to the party. So he had to run out and get the fancy paper. He went to Hallmark while I went to B.R.US. We were a little late to the party but not much. Yep, you read that right, WE were a little late. His sister had a coed party. About 7 guys were there to about 21 girls. She got a shit load of stuff, we figured close to two thousand dollars worth of shit.

Sunday night we got home and vegged in front of the tv again. Why yes, we are home bodies, we watch way way way too much tv. But then, we did also watch Barnyard. It wasn't even 3 minutes into the movie when I paused to say that I was glad we didn't buy it. Got it through our Netflix. I mean it wasn't bad, had some pretty funny parts, but nowhere near as good as some of the other kids movies that are out there.

I told him that tonight I get to have the computer for at least a couple hours to be able to come on here and update and go read a site or two. I think we're going to have to come up with some kind of timeshare. It makes the most sense for me to be able to get on the 1st part of the evening and then him the 2nd half. Mainly because every couple of days he doesn't have to get up in the morning to go to work so he can stay up later than I can. Who knows what'll happen but something has too. I get a little antsy when I can't get on. And I feel horrible that I'm not keeping up with my favorite sites. I know I'm losing out on some pretty good posts. So now I'm off to at least read one of them.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

We're not big celebrators of the holiday. Every now and then he'll have some roses sent to my place of employment. A couple years I got a gift. I've gotten him flowers before and a stuffed animal or two. But usually it's just cards and maybe he'll get me a rose or a few that I get directly from him at home. This year was the same. I got him two cards (as I mentioned before I get one funny and one mushy). He got me a card along with some chocolates and a single red rose. He also gave me a pretty thing for my desk at work. It's a bunch of tiny roses in the shape of a heart inside some glass framed by wood. I know the perfect place for it, right next to my monitor.

Right now I've got Pretty Boy snuggled between my arms with his head resting on my left arm. He's very warm and it feels really good. I thought I had a picture of him to be able to put up but apparently I don't. I'll have to get one up soon along with one of Whiskers.

So back to the holiday. We also never go out to eat on this day. It's just not worth it. So we ordered some Chili's takeout and came back to the best seat in the house - right on the couch in front of the tv. First we watched Bones, and for those of you who don't watch it (yes, I'm looking at you Natalie) well you're missing a great show. It's funny, dramatic and gross. Check it out.

Afterward we debated on what to watch next. Was it going to be Battlestar Galactica (his choice) or Lost (my choice). We both like both shows but we each had our preference this night. So we decided to play rock/paper/scissors for it. We decided we'd play 2 out 3. We count: 1... 2... 3 - scissors are thrown. We go again: 1... 2... 3 - I throw a rock (not literally, although I did say "I don't have a rock to throw though." before we started) he throws paper. One down. 1... 2... 3 - scissors are thrown again. 1... 2... 3 - Scissors. Are. Thrown. Again. I got the giggles, said we can't do this, we think too much alike. But we go again after I make myself stop giggling. 1... 2... 3 - I do paper, he does scissors. He won, boo on him.

So I go over to Battlestar, we watch the "previously on" portion and realize somehow, someway we missed a show. I got my way anyway, yay me. So Lost it was.

So that was our big Valentine's night. That's the best way, snuggled up in your own home with your honey.

For his birthday on Sunday I took him to dinner at a local Italian restaurant and then he wanted to go see a movie so we went to see Epic Movie. That was just plain ridiculous. But it was funny in parts. If it hadn't been so late I might've been able to convince him to see Pan's Labyrinth again. But it was so we saw Epic Movie instead.

And for those of you haven't gone to see Pan's Labyrinth yet...what are you waiting for? Hmmm? You need to see this movie, I am not kidding, go, go now. Yes, right now. Stop what you're doing and go already!

That is all. See you soon I hope.

Birthday Wishes

HAPPY BIRTHDAY H DITTY!! I LOVE YOU!!

Today is H Ditty's birthday; he turns 36. We'll be the same age for 20 days, until March 4th, when I turn 37. Yep, I'm robbing the cradle, but not by much.

Poor thing is working right now, until 6:00 tonight. Normally he takes the day off but he didn't this time. Not sure if we'll do anything tonight when he gets home. He's usually pretty tired. Hell, who wouldn't be after working 12 hours. His dad called yesterday wanting to get together either tonight or tomorrow, I think I'll call him and tell him it'll have to be tomorrow.

I tried to find a present for him yesterday but the mall I went to didn't have anything at all of interest for him. Except for his cards, I got those. I always get two cards, one funny and one mushy. Got his Valentine's Day cards too. So I'll probably make myself presentable in a couple hours and go to another mall or to the dreaded B.B. electronics store.

I was going to go all mushy here but decided I'd keep that between us for right now. So I'll just say it again.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY H DITTY!! I LOVE YOU!!

Absolutely repulsive

So this is Crybaby. And as much as I love him, he can be the most disgusting, repulsive, nauseating, ghastly and any other synonym you can come up with cat.

We're assuming that when he was fixed they didn't quite clean him out completely. Every now and then he squirts out the most sickening fluids. Its not urine, it's thicker and sort of milky and clear at the same time and the smell lasts forever. He usually does it when he's completely engrossed with something and someone or something freaks him out. Or when he gets really excited from too much loving. If it gets on clothes or a blanket or any other cloth it has to be washed before you can use the item again. If you don't you'll be smelling that odor for a long time to come. If it gets on your skin you have to wash and rinse a few times before it'll come out.

This happened to me tonight although nothing was done to make him do it. At least not anything that makes sense. He was snuggled with me on the couch when he got a whiff of blueberry. I had a blueberry muffin as my dessert and the crumbs were wrapped in a paper towel sitting on a tv tray. He stands up sniffing at it trying to get to the crumbs. I reach over and grab the towel and that's that. He didn't even flinch, just kept on sniffing.

Next thing I know I feel this wetness on my blanket and then the odor hits me. I have it on both my hands before I know what's happening. The odor is getting stronger and stronger. I go to the bathroom to wash my hands off and and glance at myself in the mirror and on my headband are three more drops. The rat bastard got it on my head. It's now in my hair. I had to take a shower and wash my hair for it to come out. I never take showers at night, I only take baths. And I certainly never wash my hair at night. It takes too long to dry. It's a good thing I wasn't going to bed right away though. Gotta watch Grey's Anatomy ya know.

After the shower I come back downstairs to watch Grey's and the smell odor is permeating the whole damn room and he's laying on the couch as if nothing ever happened. I swear that cat needs a whole new neutering.

Usually I have some sort of quote in my mind from something that I know, be it a song, movie, tv show, what have you that I want to use for my media quotes. But sometimes I have no clue where to even begin. So that's usually when I go to www.imdb.com and stick a word or phrase in and choose quotes and search. This was completely too cool. It was the first quote that came up and it incorporates two of the things I mentioned. And, I remember this episode, so I of course had to use it.

Media quote of the day: Look, I fantasized about you. About the woman in this photo, whoever she is. I'm not proud of it, but it's a fact. Do you know what they're gonna do to me today? I have cancer. And they're gonna lift up my legs and expose me to the world, and cut out my prostate, and my nerves. Effectively neuter me. So is it so hard to understand that I don't want the woman who is in that photo to witness... my emasculation? - Mr Humphrey in Grey's Anatomy (from 2005)

From a trainee's point of view

Ok, this is for all you trainers out there.

When you're having a bad day, whether it's because you don't feel good or because there's shit going on in your life, it's not fair to your trainees when you go around all mopey or bad moody. Bosslady, as mentioned last night, had yesterday off. She had a 3 day weekend to rest up. She came in today in what seemed like a grumpy mood. She wasn't mean or anything but was kind of snappy to everyone when they asked her a question or for something to be done. Not until lunch time did she finally start to calm down but even then she wasn't her usual self.

When you're like that as a trainer your trainee doesn't want to ask you anything. They (I) feel highly uncomfortable and intrusive and bothersome. But they (I) need to ask you things. They (I) need to know how to do something and since they (I) don't know how that means you're the one they (I) ask. But they (I) don't do it and therefore their (my) work doesn't get done and that's not a good thing.

So, in other words, fake it.

Media quote of the day:

Are you in a bad mood?
Don't you wanna talk about it?
Did I say somethin' rude?
You don't have to cry about it.
Aren't you feelin' okay?
Would you like a little company?
Or did you have a bad day?
Are you mad at me? -let it show
Don't tell me nothing - I don't wanna know.

My boring week

Damn, and I apologized for missing just a few days the other week. This time I didn't get on here for a full week. I didn't even get on to read anyone else's blog/journal. I am way, way behind.

So let's see. What's been going on in my world lately. I've been kicking ass at work. Helping the hell out of the guy that was hired the same time as me. But it doesn't bother me. I rather like helping him. By helping him I'm helping myself since it's clarifying what I know or think I know. It should also help at the end of March when it's time for my 3 month review and how much I should get for a raise. If it doesn't then they're pretty bogus.

Friday we decided to have a tailgate party all day. We worked of course but a lot of us brought in food so most people ate all day. The company provided lunch as usual, small ham sandwiches and chili. But people who brought food brought in donuts, cupcakes, meatballs, nachos and salsa, cookies, cheese dip and crackers and I brought in my Blueberry Fluff. Bosslady and I decorated the lunch room and kitchen with pictures that dealt with the Bears. Just about everyone wore something Bears related. Good times.

Saturday H Ditty and I sat around catching up on all the shows from the week that we had missed. Nothing much else.

Sunday was one freezing ass cold day. I went out to the store to pick up a few things. It was only zero out there. Unreal, there's no global warming going on right now. Heh

We decided not to have people over for the game. The only person that came over was his best friend, Jim. He was for Indianapolis, soooo not a Bears fan. It was a good game for the most part but every now and then the Bears made me think of the Keystone cops. Bossman called 'em The Three Stooges today when we were talking about it.

Many of the commercials kicked ass as usual. Love the Coke commercials. The Bud ones were pretty good too, especially the puppy one.

Today bosslady took a day off so I had to help new guy even more than usual but it was actually a pretty good one for a Monday.

So that was my boring week. You guys didn't miss much. But I am sorry for not updating sooner. Damn, I really need to get my own computer again.
