So we had another pretty good weekend. When I had gone home for lunch on Friday I hopped on the treadmill for about 12 minutes. I had made a decision to do that every day several months ago and just haven't done it. No excuse really since most days I'm done eating with a good 10 minutes to spare.
After I got off work I ran out to Walmart and Jewel to get a few groceries we've been needing and I also stopped by our eye doctors to pick up some paperwork needed for our FlexCom account. I had just finished putting everything away and was starting to put a couple steaks in some marinade when he got home. He opened the grill and came in to get the matches to start it when I told the marinade needed at least a 1/2 hour to really soak in so he didn't start the grill and decided to take a shower. Since I had gotten a little warm on the treadmill earlier I decided to take a shower as well after he got out.
While I was still in he decided he was so relaxed now that he didn't feel like grilling out anymore. So we decided to have some baked chicken and tots instead and as usual vegged out on the couch and computer.
Saturday he worked until 2pm and I pretty much did nothing until he got home. Well, I did exercise. I did 10 minutes on the elliptical to warm up then did some weight lifting then another 10 minutes cool down on the elliptical again. Soaked in the tub afterward reading the latest Entertainment Magazine.
He wasn't hungry so I made myself some shrimp and fries for lunch then not long after that we did the little straightening up that was needed before the guys came over for the UFC fights. Which were really pretty darn good. So happy Nick Diaz got his ass handed to him. Oh how it was a beautiful sight to see. Although the third slam onto the mat I was worried for him, never want to see a guy get seriously injured even if I don't like him. But luckily he was ok. And another fighter, can't remember his name now, had the largest hematoma over his right eye that I've ever seen. It had all of us cringing big time along with the bad cut he had under his left eye. Wayne had us all laughing when he wondered which side the guy would be laying on while trying to sleep. I think it was HDT or Scott, or maybe both, that said it'd be his back.
Sunday ended up being a nice lazy day. Our friend Pat came over to watch some Dr Who shows that he's been trying to convince us to watch; the ones that have been on since 2005, not the originals from way back when. We ran out to grab some Popeye's that I've been craving for awhile now while he was on his way over. We vegged out on the couch eating some good food watching a pretty good show. I'd be just fine if we never watched another show but it's definitely enjoyable so I know we'll probably end up watching all the rest of the seasons as well. Eventually anyway.
After we were done watching several of those Pat left for home and HDT and I did some dishes and cooked up some mac and cheese for dinner and watched some Sports Night.
At one point we stopped watching to go over some things that needed going over and while doing that he got a text or something telling him to turn on the tv that Bin Laden had been killed. So I did that and we watched the breaking news about that along with Obama's speech. And then I went to bed not long after that.

Weekend Update 3/18-20/11
So this was another fairly busy weekend even though HDT had to work.
But I can't remember what we did Friday night. I'm thinking we must have stayed home as usual since he had to work Saturday morning but I really can't remember. If we stayed home as I'm thinking we did we watched some Dexter's Season 4 from Netflix.
Saturday, as mentioned, he had to work so he was gone when I got up which was at 8am. Pretty early for me. But Pretty Boy came running into the room trying to get behind the blinds onto the window sill. So since I was awake I decided to get up and workout. I'm still sore today from it too, good workout!
I soaked in the tub reading the time away after that then got ready to go do the shopping that I didn't get done on Thursday night and also to get HDiTty's dad his birthday card and gift. While I was out HDT called to say he was getting out of work an hour early and that his dad canceled on us (we were going to take him to see Paul) because he's feeling really lousy. But HDT remembered there was a charity bowling event for the local FOP that we were supposed to go to. So since all I had left to get was dad's card we decided I should just skip that and head on home and get it later or on Sunday.
When I got home he was already there but just. So as I'm putting things away I let him know that there's no way I'll be able to bowl. I'm way to sore from the workout this morning. I'm more than willing to go and be a cheerleader though. But he decided since his psoriasis was flaring up and hurting we should just stay home. So he got in the tub with the Aveno oatmeal bath stuff to soak it out.
While in there he gets a call from some friends of ours that we haven't seen in something like 5-6 years. They're in the area visiting her sister and would like to meet up. So we met them at our favorite Chinese restaurant and hang out for a little while with them and their three kids. The youngest of which slept pretty much the whole time but that was ok.
We had to get home though before 8pm as my brothers were coming over for the UFC fights. So we parted ways and we made it just in time to set everything up before the first brother arrived. The fights were a mixture of good and ok. Once again better than expected since there wasn't one fighter I cared about. And of course we had a good time with the guys as usual.
HDT was silly and stayed up the whole time and didn't get into bed until close 1am because he stayed up afterward to set up the recording as usual.
Sunday I was pretty much lazy and sat on the couch still recuperating from the workout on Saturday. I finally started watching Gilmore Girls. Jess loaned me the first season ages ago and I never felt like watching it until now. It's alright so far. I guess I was expecting so much more since the fans are so fanatical about it. Bust still, it's a good one to watch on weekends that he's at work and I don't have much else to watch or do.
A little after 4pm I quit watching and finished making myself presentable and headed back out to Target to shop for dad's birthday card and gift. Ended up getting him a really cool black and white blown up photograph picture of Wrigley Field.
Got home just before HDT did, showed it to him before wrapping it up then we headed over to his dad's house for cake and ice cream. Actually ended up being brownies and ice cream but that's ok, brownies are good. Hung out there for awhile then finally headed out just after 8pm.
We picked up some pizza from the place where we first met and don't get to very often and headed home. We watched a couple more Dexters before I had to finally get into bed.

Weekend Update 2/25-27/11
So let's see. It was a pretty busy weekend overall really. HDiTty has a group of friends from his junior high and high school days, they call themselves The Mutants because they were pretty geeky. Hell, to a point they all still are. Anyway, some of them got together during the day on Friday and went to lunch then hung out until I got home.
I changed pretty quickly and we headed out to dinner. We decided to go to BWW but when we got there they were packed with a 30 minute wait. So I called over to Chili's (just up the street) and they didn't have a wait so we headed over there. One of the guys brought his wife along as well with their 5 year son. He and I played the games sheet that restaurants always have to occupy kids with. We did word search and tic tac toe. I of course let him win those. We started in on an ad libs type thing but the food came and we never got back to it.
After dinner we headed over to the bowling alley to have some fun there. HDT and I barely made it over 110. I beat him by 3 pins though, at least I think that's what it was. After the first game was over Kevin and his family had to leave and one of the other guys decided to sit out the next game since his hand was hurting. HDT and I did so much better. I marked every frame but one and then it was absolutely horrendous. I guttered my 1st ball and only got one with my 2nd. And HDT decided I couldn't beat him and he stepped up what he was doing and finished strong. Because of that one frame though he beat me by 3 pins. Damn!
We headed back to our house so they could finish watching Fright Night which I guess they were watching while waiting for me to get off of work. We had talked about different shows or webisodes we had all been watching so we decided to show them a couple of them after the movie. We played the first season of The Guild and then the first show of The IT Crowd. I believe they'll be checking those out when they get the chance.
Everyone but Jim left after that, it was pretty late and one of them had to get home to his family. Jim stayed behind as usual. We watched some of our recorded shows but with so many of them pixalized (this is why we want to get rid of Directv) we gave up. I went to bed, not sure what those two did. Actually, I think Jim went home then as well.
Saturday we both got up about the same time. We were debating on what to have for breakfast when he noticed that Jess left a message saying she needed a ride to her dentist. So we agreed to do that, we only had time for a sandwich (me) and hot dogs (him) before we had to get ready to go. Collected her just before 1:00 and made it to her appointment with 15 minutes to spare. Since we weren't too far from the Apple store we headed over there after dropping her off. HDT has been needing a battery for his laptop for quite awhile now.
Right next to the Apple store is a Sephora store. Kate Walsh (Dr Addison Montgomery on Private Practice) has created her own perfume called Boyfriend. She's been hawking it herself, especially on twitter and I've been wanting to test it out but we don't have any Sephora stores near our town. So we head in the store after he got his battery and we were bombarded by two sales ladies from the moment we walked in. But that was ok, they were both really nice if a little over enthusiastic.
I sprayed a little on my left wrist and found that I did indeed like it. But with my birthday coming up on Friday we decided we wouldn't get it now. When discussing my birthday one of the sales ladies heard us and told me to sign up for the beauty insider thing they got going on and I'd get a free birthday gift. So I signed up and did get a free gift. I received a bottle of birthday cake shampoo, body wash, bubble bath all in one. I used it on Sunday as the bubble bath and wash (not the shampoo), it was pretty nice.
Jess called while we were getting ready to leave to say she was ready for pick up. We collected her and decided she'd come over to continue watching Grey's Anatomy season 5 with us. We also picked up some lunch - pizza and bread sticks. We watched that until just before 8:00 when the brothers would start to head over to watch the UFC prelims. Jim also came over.
Scott and all but one of his kids were there first, as usual. Wayne couldn't make it but the other two, Roy and Jason, made it. Early even, they usually don't show up until the actual fights are about to start or actually did start. There were two fights that the decisions were total bullshit but whatever. And Bisbing - Oh My God I can't stand that cheating motherfucker! There's no way this win should count. I agree with HDT, that it'll always have an asterisk next to it. CHEATER!
Anyway, after the fights everyone headed out but Jim and Jess. She wanted to watch the last show on the disc of Grey's so we did that. Just a little ways into it HDT went to bed because he ended up with 4 hours overtime in the morning starting at 6:00am. After the Grey's show Jim and I watched the last part of one of the comedy shows we had been trying to watch the night before and gave up on. After that he headed home and I took Jess home.
Sunday when I got up I finally started to make the Amish friendship bread I was supposed to make back on Thursday but didn't. I had pretty much just put them in the oven when HDT got home. He was talking to Jess when he came and they decided that if she got enough of her apartment cleaned she'd come over later in the afternoon to watch the last 4 shows of season 5.
He and I watched some comedy shows while having breakfast but shortly after eating he started to fall asleep so I made him go take a nap for a couple hours. Shortly after he laid down I decided to take a bath and read. After I got him up I made the other batch of Amish bread using chocolate pudding instead of vanilla.
A little after putting them in the oven Jess called to say she was ready to come over if we were still willing to have her. So we hopped in the car to pick her up along with some Chinese for dinner. Got home and I set up the Oscars to record and then proceeded to watch the last eps of Grey's.
Near the end of the 2nd to last show she mentioned something about wanting to take her computer home that he was supposed to be working on for the last couple of weeks. They got into a little tiff and she decided she was going home with the computer regardless of what he thought. So we packed her up and I took her home.
Came home and proceeded to watch the Oscars. They were pretty boring for the most part. I agree with everyone that says Franco was out of it and Hathaway was very bubbly. But I was ok with that, that's what she is most of the time anyway it seems. No real surprises with wins but that's ok too. It was a good year for the front runners to actually win because they were all really good. I would rather have had Rush win for supporting actor than Bale but that's probably only because we haven't seen The Fighter yet.
Anyway, after the show was over we headed up to bed and that was that for the weekend.

Weekend Update 2/4-6/11
So, let's see. It was his weekend to work but he took Sunday off and only had to work his 8 hour day on Saturday.
Friday was our usual staying at home and watching tv while he played on the computer.
Saturday I was lazy again, too cold do anything else. Well, not totally lazy. I did get on the elliptical. I wanted to use the treadmill but it wasn't working (again). So I used the elliptical. After I lazed on the couch for a little while watching tv but started to get drowsy around 2:00ish.
I was planning on taking a nap when HDT called to say Jim would be stopping by soon to pick up the Star Wars DVDs. He and his girls got there just before 3:00 and we chatted for a bit while they gave Poydras a bunch of attention. Then shortly after they left I went and laid down for a nap. HDT had let me know when he called about Jim coming over that he would be stuck at work for a couple hours or so.
He got home around 4:30 or so. I had dozed off not long before he got home so although I felt like I could have slept longer it was a good thing I didn't. It was just enough that I felt refreshed and didn't start getting tired again until around 10:00.
We had some dinner while watching a show or two and then got to straightening up before the boys came over to watch the UFC fights. Wayne brought one of his friends/coworkers over. The fights were not all that interesting. Which was pretty sad for being such a good card. Oh well, since Forrest Griffin won I was still a happy girl.
Not long after they all left I went to bed. HDT showed up not long after.
Sunday we got up and I made breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon and biscuits. Very good breakfast if I do say so myself. Watched tv, as usual, until we had to get ready to leave to go to Jason's (HDT's coworker) house to watch the Superbowl.
Three couples that they're friends with from their church also came. They seem like a really good bunch of people. It's a church that HDT and I have talked on and off about going to. But as you can see we're pretty damn lazy and just haven't made it a point to go to.
The game itself was good. I was torn between wanting Green Bay to win and not wanting them to. I really don't like the Packers and I couldn't root for them. But at the same time being in the NFC I wanted them to win more than I wanted the Steelers to. Several of the people there were actively rooting for the Steelers because they're Bears fans and found it even harder to want Green Bay to win than I did. It sounded like HDT was the only one there that wanted them to win. Turns out he had a bet, a double or nothing bet, so he had even more reason for wanting Green Bay to win.
I didn't care for the halftime show. All those neon dancers just kept me thinking of Tron which I don't think they were supposed to. And other than the Guns and Roses song with Slash I didn't know or even care about any of the songs. Not a Black Eyed Peas fan. Or Usher for that matter. Not that I dislike them though, just not something I listen to.
I really liked many of the commercials, especially the Doritos and VW commercials. The Eminem Chrysler commercial was pretty darn good too. I was very disappointed that they shortened the Darth Vader VW commercial though. HDT had purposely not watched it before the game because he said he wanted to see it when we all were supposed to see it for the first time. So when it finally aired I was upset that he didn't get to see the whole thing. I felt like it didn't have as much of an impact. But then, reading about all of them the next day it seemed like a ton of people still really liked it. So that's good.
After the game we went home, made a pizza since we were both pretty hungry. And then not long after I was done I went to bed.

The fights were not all that interesting. Which was pretty sad for being such a good card. Oh well, since Forrest Griffin won I was still a happy girl.
Not long after they all left I went to bed. HDT showed up not long after.
Sunday we got up and I made breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon and biscuits. Very good breakfast if I do say so myself. Watched tv, as usual, until we had to get ready to leave to go to Jason's (HDT's coworker) house to watch the Superbowl.
Three couples that they're friends with from their church also came. They seem like a really good bunch of people. It's a church that HDT and I have talked on and off about going to. But as you can see we're pretty damn lazy and just haven't made it a point to go to.
The game itself was good. I was torn between wanting Green Bay to win and not wanting them to. I really don't like the Packers and I couldn't root for them. But at the same time being in the NFC I wanted them to win more than I wanted the Steelers to. Several of the people there were actively rooting for the Steelers because they're Bears fans and found it even harder to want Green Bay to win than I did. It sounded like HDT was the only one there that wanted them to win. Turns out he had a bet, a double or nothing bet, so he had even more reason for wanting Green Bay to win.
I didn't care for the halftime show. All those neon dancers just kept me thinking of Tron which I don't think they were supposed to. And other than the Guns and Roses song with Slash I didn't know or even care about any of the songs. Not a Black Eyed Peas fan. Or Usher for that matter. Not that I dislike them though, just not something I listen to.
I really liked many of the commercials, especially the Doritos and VW commercials. The Eminem Chrysler commercial was pretty darn good too. I was very disappointed that they shortened the Darth Vader VW commercial though. HDT had purposely not watched it before the game because he said he wanted to see it when we all were supposed to see it for the first time. So when it finally aired I was upset that he didn't get to see the whole thing. I felt like it didn't have as much of an impact. But then, reading about all of them the next day it seemed like a ton of people still really liked it. So that's good.
After the game we went home, made a pizza since we were both pretty hungry. And then not long after I was done I went to bed.

Weekend Update 12/30 - 1/2/11
So Thursday we got out of work early at 3:00. Well, by the time I finished what I was doing at the time we were told we could go and then cleaning up my desk it was actually 3:20 that I got out of there. Anyway, HDiTty and I had planned on meeting up with our friend Pat and going to see a movie. Since I got out early we confirmed with him that he was ready to go and we picked him up then went out for dinner at a Chinese restaurant that we don't get to very often since it's a decent drive away. All of us had an excellent dinner and HDT and I had enough left over for another meal or two each.
After that we headed out to go see True Grit. That is one excellent movie I must say. I've never read the book it's based on nor have I seen the original movie with The Duke. And I probably never will see that one as I don't really care for John Wayne. But what I've read of this remake it's closer to the book anyway so why would I want to see the other? Anyway, everyone in it is really good and the girl (Hailee Steinfeld) was absolutely wonderful.
Since none of us were tired and True Grit got out with enough time we decided to go see Tron Legacy in 3D as well. Which was ok, but I didn't expect much from it anyway as the original was pretty darn bad/campy. But I definitely liked seeing Michael Sheen, his character was a lot of fun to watch.
After that we took him home and hung out for a little bit until both HDT and I started to get really tired so we headed on home.
Friday after we got up and had some breakfast I got ready to go do some well needed shopping and HDT went into work to complete some projects he needed to do. After putting away the groceries, ect. I decided I'd start in on the tree since I didn't know when HDT was getting home and I wanted as much as possible off it. I couldn't help myself, Jersey Shore was on the tv when I turned it on and I got sucked into the ridiculousness of it all. But it was like a train wreck, I just couldn't look away.
Anyway, I put a sheet down in the middle of the room and had to sort of lift/drag the tree on to it since the base still had water in it. By the time I got all the ornaments and lights off it seemed like there were more needles on the sheet/floor than there were on the tree. That is one dry tree. Since I couldn't take it out of the stand by myself I left it there and started to do some other cleaning. I had texted HDT at one point to find out when he'd be home and he didn't have a clue so when my stomach started growling I heated up my Chinese and had dinner while still watching Jersey Shore.
Pretty much at the same time I was finishing my meal HDT gave a call to say he was on his way home and Jim was following him. So they took the tree the rest of the way down and out to the curb wrapped in the old shower curtain HDT had just changed and the sheet I had put it on. Both of them were hungry so I heated up his left over Chinese for them. Then as they were eating they started to talk about what we'd watch and since we didn't finish Resident Evil: Extinction the other night we decided we'd watch that. Then Jim said that the 4th one - Resident Evil: Afterlife should have been released on Tuesday. I went online to check and sure enough it was out. So HDT called up Walmart to make sure they had it before we went all the way out there and they did so we went all the way out there.
And of course while there we did a little more shopping, including getting Southern Comfort which is what HDT prefers to do shots of. Since we already have Jaeger for me and Rumplemintz for Jim we were set. When we had walked in the doors of the store there was a display of freshly baked bread which triggered the "I want a sandwich" switch in the guys' brains so we grabbed a loaf of it and the guys chose what meat they wanted and then we did the rest of the shopping. By the time we got home it was 11:30.
I grabbed everything needed to make the sandwiches and brought it downstairs while the guys set up the table. We decided to play a game: Munchkin Bites while eating. During that it turned midnight so we did a shot of Jaeger, then SoCo then Rumplemintz. The Rumplemintz almost made me hurl, the others I had absolutely no problem with. I took a couple bites of the bread (I was not having any sandwiches - still too full) and that helped settle everything down. At midnight mountain time we had a Hanging Nazi shot (1/2 Jaeger and 1/2 Rumplemintz) that went down a little easier.
After we finished the game we finished watching Extinction then put in Afterlife. I was ready for bed within the first 10 minutes. HDT was ready as well, Jim was gonna stay behind to finish it, told him to lock up when he left. But then as I was getting ready to get up something in the movie caught HDT's eye and he ended up staying up to watch the whole movie.
Saturday we slept in late and then were lazy for most of the day watching tv. At one point Wayne texted me about the UFC fights so we decided to go ahead and get it. So I then texted all the rest of the brothers to let them know. Mom called me pretty much right after that since she knew I was at the least near my phone (Roy lives with her). While talking to her Jason called and Wayne texted back. HDT also gave Jim a call to see if he'd come over to help him with the tv and other electronic crap that I hate working on with him.
While they did that I cleaned up the kitchen. They realized they needed some things from Home Depot so they ran out to do that and while there HDT saw a rug that he really wanted so he got it. It is gorgeous, dark colors and leaves all over. So I'm really happy with it too. While they were finishing up Scott and his son showed up and then not long after that Wayne did. We quickly finished straightening up and then settled down to watch the Prelims. Jason and Roy showed up just before, maybe just after, the main fights started. Amazingly enough, for a card that didn't have any real big fighters going at it, although there was a title fight, and we almost didn't get because of that reason it ended up being really good. And not just because I was feeling good after having a mudslide either.
After the fights everyone left but Jim. I went to bed just after one and when I woke up some time later I noticed HDT still hadn't come to bed. I look at the clock and it's almost 7:00. I texted him "srsly" and he comes back asking me to come downstairs. I confirmed Jim was gone (only in my sleepshirt and panties) and went down. As I walked through the living room I see that they had brought the old rug up and put it in there (looks good) and the old green rug was now in the kitchen in front of the sink. The new rug had been put down along with the small new rug that matched it was at the bottom of the stairs. Also he had straightened out the DVD's and did a little more as well.
After telling him that he did a great job, that I really like the new rug and fed and watered and bathroom breaked the dog/cats I went back to bed. He came up shortly after. I set the alarm to make sure we wouldn't sleep too late and miss the kick off of the Saints game at noon. I ended up waking up at 9:45 and couldn't go back to sleep although I stayed in bed petting the cat and dog until almost 11:00.
I finally got up and started making bacon and eggs for breakfast. At 11:35 I woke up HDT for his first alarm. Then his own alarm kicked in about 11:45. We watched the sad, sad game but still not a big deal that they lost since Atlanta won theirs. Then we turned on the Bears/Packers game. I got a little bored with it so didn't pay that much attention to it. Then a little after 5:00 I made us dinner. We watched a 48 Hours Mystery that had been in our DVR since November. After that it was close to the time for the night game, which would determine who the Saints will be meeting in the playoffs next week. Turns out it'll be Seattle, which should be, knock on wood, a fairly easy enough game. At least it shouldn't be a struggle as so many of them have been lately.
It was a pretty boring game but HDT did more cleaning/decorating of the basement while I continued to read the last Dark Tower book and help him on and off. I must say, he did a really good job. Although it's not the "grown up" living room I'd like it is a "grown up sports room." Heh

Well, I was gonna do a quote from True Grit as well but unfortunately there isn't any on IMDB and that's the only place I trust in getting one. So, so be it.

Weekend Update 12/10-12/10
So we had plans to start our Christmas shopping this weekend but when I got home from work on Friday I was informed that we'd be watching Kylie on Saturday. We already were going to be doing it on Sunday. But I guess Jess' sitter for Saturday fell through so she asked us. HDT says he still planned on doing the shopping anyway on Saturday but I knew it would fall through. She'd be the perfect excuse for us to stay home plus the weather was supposed to be bad.
Friday night after having a bit of a heated discussion about us putting our plans aside whenever Jess or Jenn or his mom calls we watched a few dvr'd shows and then he went to bed and I read for awhile before finally turning in around midnight.
Saturday he had to work from 6:00 - 2:00. I got up around 9ish I think it was and did my usual soak and read for awhile. Then I watched my Ghost Hunters shows that he doesn't watch. After that I started to clean the kitchen, he got home shortly after I started. Had him finish loading the dishwasher while I started to prepare us some mac and cheese. Then I mentioned how the fridge needed to be vacuumed because we haven't done that in years and with all the cats and dog it's got to be awful. So we pulled it out and was working on the back when Jess showed up with Kylie. After he was done with the fridge and I finished making the food he looks out the window and sees that it's raining pretty hard and says that he thinks we shouldn't be going out in this bad weather with Kylie to do the shopping. All I said was, "I know" and let it drop.
They went downstairs so he could start working on the tv and stuff with some new HD cables that he got and she could play with her toys while I finished washing the dishes that couldn't go in the dishwasher. At some point while we were all still upstairs we found out that she'd never seen Bambi or Lady and the Tramp so we watched those and then put in Labyrinth which she's fallen in love with. But we let her know that we'd only be able to watch a little bit of it because we had people coming over for the UFC fights and she'd have to go to bed then anyway. Luckily she didn't put up a fuss at all about that and when I took her up to our bed she went right to sleep.
All the boys came over as usual along with two of HDT's coworkers to watch the fights. Wayne, my youngest brother, was the last to show and he comes walking in with his title belt that his kids gave him for father's day this year, holding it up in the air chanting Koschek, Koschek, Koschek. I picked up the water bottle that we use to spray the cats when needed and start spraying him with it. Most of us absolutely can't stand Kos and for him to come in chanting that was just wrong. But we had a good laugh. Especially when GSP kicked the shit out of him. We would've liked to see GSP finish him but seeing him kick his ass for 5 rounds was good too. The rest of the fights were really good as well and all the talking that was going on during the 3 hours was fun so we had a great evening. Jess showed up a fight or two before the GSP/Koschek fight and was glad she did because she can't stand him either and has a little crush of GSP.
After the fights everyone left but Jess. She had let us know during the fights that Kylie's dad finally called Jess back and said he'd be happy to take her on Sunday so we got out of that at least. She got on the computer to do some WOW stuff and HDT played a few Call of Duty games but then saw me playing on my phone so he quit so we could watch something together before I went to bed. But then as soon as he switched to tv Jess called him over because she needed help with something and they were over there doing whatever it is they were doing for long enough for me to say that I had to go to bed now. I told her not to worry about getting Kylie, that I'd just snuggle in on HDT's side of the bed which is what I did.
Somewhere around 3:00 she came and got her and then HDT came to bed. Said they were staying the night on the futon downstairs.
Sunday morning I woke up around 8:30 or so but just couldn't make myself get out of bed so I stayed there petting on Cry Baby and Poydras. Around 9 or so I heard the backdoor open so I knew Jess was getting ready to leave but I also had a feeling she shut the backdoor and didn't realize the inside handle will turn while locked. Sure enough she starts knocking on the door. Poydras flew off the bed barking and growling and started towards the door with me right behind. Her car doors had frozen over. I gave her something to chip at the ice with and she was able to get her passenger door open and started the car. While it was warming up she and Kylie were giving Poydras lovings and I stayed in the kitchen talking with 'em.
Eventually the car warmed up enough that she was able to get her driver door open and be on their way. I was debating on grabbing my book and getting in the tub for a soak and read or just grabbing the book and reading on the couch or watching more of my shows that HDT doesn't watch until he got up. As I was standing there shivering I decided on the tub since it'd be nice and warm while the house was heating up and all warm by the time I got out. HDT woke up while I was still in there but almost done with my book. So I finished that and while I was drying my hair he placed an order for pizza since neither of us felt like eating what we had and I for once said I was in the mood for it.
We grabbed it and came back home to start watching football. He flipped between a couple games because of his fantasy football guys and then at 3:00 we switched over to watch the Saints game. They finally had a sound win after several weeks of really having to fight for it. Was fun to watch. I was really tired at the beginning of the game, even joked about taking a nap during it, but about half way through the 2nd quarter I was wide awake and cheering.
After that we watched some dvr'd shows, had dinner and a little after 9:00 his dad called so I turned on the Dallas/Atlanta game since we couldn't watch anything while they were talking. They got into a discussion about some things that are going on with HDT's other sister Jenn. After the game ended I was expecting HDT to get off the phone when he realized how late it had gotten but he didn't. In between talking about Jenn they discussed the game since both were watching it. So after it ended they still hadn't finished talking about Jenn because of all the interruptions.
But I started to get tired so got up to go to bed, HDT told his dad he had to get off the phone then. He looked at the time and saw that he'd talked to him for over an hour and still doesn't think he got through to him. I told him that maybe he'll think about everything that was said and will see the logic in it. HDT told me to come over to his desk and when I got there he hit play on his itunes player on the computer. It was a Christmas song but when he saw that I didn't recognize who it was he told me it was the album I've been looking for/wanting for years. He had the whole thing. He found on Ebay someone who had recorded it onto cd's from the album but he also bought the album as well. I'm so, so happy. Now if only I could remember what the other Christmas album is that I used to listen to all the time I'd be even happier. Oh well, this will do.

Jess showed up a fight or two before the GSP/Koschek fight and was glad she did because she can't stand him either and has a little crush of GSP.
After the fights everyone left but Jess. She had let us know during the fights that Kylie's dad finally called Jess back and said he'd be happy to take her on Sunday so we got out of that at least. She got on the computer to do some WOW stuff and HDT played a few Call of Duty games but then saw me playing on my phone so he quit so we could watch something together before I went to bed. But then as soon as he switched to tv Jess called him over because she needed help with something and they were over there doing whatever it is they were doing for long enough for me to say that I had to go to bed now. I told her not to worry about getting Kylie, that I'd just snuggle in on HDT's side of the bed which is what I did.
Somewhere around 3:00 she came and got her and then HDT came to bed. Said they were staying the night on the futon downstairs.
Sunday morning I woke up around 8:30 or so but just couldn't make myself get out of bed so I stayed there petting on Cry Baby and Poydras. Around 9 or so I heard the backdoor open so I knew Jess was getting ready to leave but I also had a feeling she shut the backdoor and didn't realize the inside handle will turn while locked. Sure enough she starts knocking on the door. Poydras flew off the bed barking and growling and started towards the door with me right behind. Her car doors had frozen over. I gave her something to chip at the ice with and she was able to get her passenger door open and started the car. While it was warming up she and Kylie were giving Poydras lovings and I stayed in the kitchen talking with 'em.
Eventually the car warmed up enough that she was able to get her driver door open and be on their way. I was debating on grabbing my book and getting in the tub for a soak and read or just grabbing the book and reading on the couch or watching more of my shows that HDT doesn't watch until he got up. As I was standing there shivering I decided on the tub since it'd be nice and warm while the house was heating up and all warm by the time I got out. HDT woke up while I was still in there but almost done with my book. So I finished that and while I was drying my hair he placed an order for pizza since neither of us felt like eating what we had and I for once said I was in the mood for it.
We grabbed it and came back home to start watching football. He flipped between a couple games because of his fantasy football guys and then at 3:00 we switched over to watch the Saints game. They finally had a sound win after several weeks of really having to fight for it. Was fun to watch. I was really tired at the beginning of the game, even joked about taking a nap during it, but about half way through the 2nd quarter I was wide awake and cheering.
After that we watched some dvr'd shows, had dinner and a little after 9:00 his dad called so I turned on the Dallas/Atlanta game since we couldn't watch anything while they were talking. They got into a discussion about some things that are going on with HDT's other sister Jenn. After the game ended I was expecting HDT to get off the phone when he realized how late it had gotten but he didn't. In between talking about Jenn they discussed the game since both were watching it. So after it ended they still hadn't finished talking about Jenn because of all the interruptions.
But I started to get tired so got up to go to bed, HDT told his dad he had to get off the phone then. He looked at the time and saw that he'd talked to him for over an hour and still doesn't think he got through to him. I told him that maybe he'll think about everything that was said and will see the logic in it. HDT told me to come over to his desk and when I got there he hit play on his itunes player on the computer. It was a Christmas song but when he saw that I didn't recognize who it was he told me it was the album I've been looking for/wanting for years. He had the whole thing. He found on Ebay someone who had recorded it onto cd's from the album but he also bought the album as well. I'm so, so happy. Now if only I could remember what the other Christmas album is that I used to listen to all the time I'd be even happier. Oh well, this will do.

July 4th, just another day amongst the rest this week
So our 4th of July/long weekend went ok, didn't do much really. Saturday HDT sold his truck and of course immediately had to go looking at/driving Jeep Wranglers. He's pretty particular on what he's wanting and we've pretty much decided that this time he's not going to compromise. Maybe that way he'll be happy enough to keep it and not want to get rid of it within a couple of years which is how he is with just about every vehicle he's ever gotten.
The salesman that we dealt with kept going back and doing new searches but couldn't find anything out there that HDT wants. During one of the searches that was taking forever we had to get up and leave since people were coming over for the UFC fights. But we knew we weren't buying then anyway.
My brothers and Jim, came over to watch the fights. They were pretty good. One of the best ones was the first fight of the prelims but Wayne and I were the only ones that really saw it. Scott was busy trying to fix our bathroom door/frame since the door wouldn't always close. And Jim and HDT were busy looking up Jeeps. Scott finished just as the prelims were ending but HDT and Jim would go back and forth between searching and watching the fights. Jason and Roy showed up just as the first fight was starting of the main event. We had a good time as always.
Sunday we lazed around until he had to go to work for over time 8-12 but next thing I know he's walking in the door just after 10. Apparently it was pretty dead but that was good since he had to go back in for his normal shift on Monday. Our town decided not to do fireworks this year but before that decision was made he had signed up for the extra coverage. Obviously ended up not needing it.
I had Monday off and decided I'd take it easy again. I mowed the lawn and that was about it. But then with the temp around 94 it was all that was needed. Watched some tv before that and then soaked in the tub reading afterward. Then went and collected HDT from work and chilled on the couch some more.
So, yeah, nice relaxing weekend for the most part.
We of course have not been working out the way we should be. But with all his overtime (he's working the next 10 days in a row) he's pretty tired. So I said again yesterday that if we keep blowing it off we need to get our elliptical out of the laundry room and set up again. So much for losing 10 pounds before my family reunion.
I completely forgot about a doctor's appointment I have this afternoon at 4:30. I made it way back in March. It's a follow up on the birth control pill, to make sure it's working for me and all. Which it is so hopefully I'll be in and out of there. She didn't say there'd be an exam so as far as I know it's just gonna be us talking about it and getting a new prescription to fill for a year this time rather than a few months.

So yeah, apparently I was due for my annual check up. Good thing I shaved my legs the day before. And I got the whole, you really do need to go get a mammogram done since your 40 and all speech. Yeah, yeah, I know I do and I will. Eventually.

Sorta sad
Happy Memorial Day everyone.
My day will be spent writing this, reading the sites I haven't been to in awhile (or at least just 1 or 2 entries), mowing the lawn and doing a little shopping. There will be no gathering at anyone's home for me. H Ditty has to work until 6pm, sucks to be him.
We saw the 3rd Pirates movie yesterday afternoon. It was good, enjoyed it quite a bit. It wasn't as good as the 1st but it was better than the 2nd. Which was the same for Shrek 3.
Ya know, it's kind of sad after you're done watching an anticipated movie or tv show. Sometimes even a book, such as the Harry Potter ones. It's not the big build up/bad let down thing I'm talking about. It's the Christmas Day thing. You spend all this time looking forward to something, anticipating how good it's going to be and it is. Sometimes even better than what you thought. But after it's all done you're sad, because it's over and there's nothing more to look forward to. You can watch/read it again but it doesn't hold the same wonder as it did before. You can enjoy it for something else because now that you know how it ends you can look for other things that you might have missed the 1st time but still it's sort of a let down. I'm not explaining it very well, at least I don't think I am. But that's sort of how I felt on the way home from the theater yesterday. Sometimes it's a feeling of wanting more and that is also how I was feeling yesterday. I'd like them to do a 4th but it should be it's own movie, not part of this one.
Damn, once again I had a few ideas of what to write about and now I can think of the others. So I guess I'll have to think of something else.
We've caught up on all the shows we watch except for Desperate Housewives. We finally went to do that one the other day. We have 5 of them and when I went to the oldest one and we're looking at the previously on portion to get reacquainted with it there's scenes that we never saw. It turns out that when I set this show up to record I set to only save 5 showings. As a new one would be recorded the oldest would be let go. Before when we were keeping up it wasn't a big deal but when we started getting behind I forgot the setting was like that and never changed it. So now we have to figure out where we left off and watch the shows online. Oh well.
We're both pretty pissed that Jericho got canceled. That was great show and deserved a lot more people watching it then were.
For any of you who happen to watch UFC. Did you watch the Liddell vs. Jackson on Saturday? Wow what an ending!! Actually all of the fights. I think that was the best show ever. Usually there's one or two fights that are boring as all get out but every one of these were something to watch.
Well, I still can't think of the other things I wanted to write about and it's getting late in the morning so if I'm going to get done everything that I need to today I better get going. Have a great day everyone.
