So Friday night HDT's youngest sister and their mom came over and we went out to dinner and a movie. We went to see Inception which I really liked but I don't think the other girls liked it much and HDT didn't like as much as me, although he did enjoy it.
It was late by the time we got out of there so they went to his sister's house for the night, I went to bed and HDT stayed up to play Call of Duty, of course. He finally came to bed around 5:30ish and at 9:30ish there was a loud knocking on our back door. They were there to bring us up to date on the saga of sis and her asshole exboyfriend. He just broke up with her a little earlier in the week and Friday night he texts her asking why she took his Swiffer. She calls him to say she didn't take it, she borrowed it several months earlier and they just never took it back to his place. So the next morning she takes it back to his place, of which she has a key. So she lets herself in and proceeds to find him in bed with another girl already.
So she of course is devastated. But HDT and I were trying to tell her it's what a lot of guys do, for many different reasons. And one of the best is as HDT told her, a guy doesn't need emotions to go to bed with a girl all he needs is a libido. And as I told her, they get over one relationship easier with a distraction and what's a better distraction than another girl in his bed.
So yeah, they hung out all day discussing it all over and over. Finally around 4:30 they decided to head back to her place and she was gonna take a nap and then get ready to go to a party with HDT and I for one of his coworkers.
We picked her up at 9:20 and made it out there by 10:00. Which normally wouldn't be late for a Saturday party but it started at 3:30. But that's ok, there were people that showed up even after us. Everyone kept asking her were the boyfriend was and so she had to keep telling everyone that they broke up. He's also a coworker of HDT and the host and so many other party goers. So I kept giving her shots and taking them along with her.
Around 1:00 we finally left along with one of the coworkers and went to an all night restaurant to get some breakfast. We dropped her off afterward and once we got home I went straight to bed and HDT played Call of Duty. Anyone notice a pattern? Yep, that's the usual in our household. But this time he didn't stay up all night.
Sunday he got up about 9:30 to go to a friends house to hang out and I stayed in bed. I had to get up at 7:20 to let the dog go to the bathroom and feed everyone. Then he decided he had to go to the bathroom again at 8:30. Then HDT's alarm started to go off at 8:50. So yeah, after he got up and I had piece again I was able to finally fall back asleep. Next thing I know I'm waking up at 12:20. But I felt well rested.
I was lazy and did some reading and then started in on season 2 of Grey's Anatomy until he came home. We watched some of the recorded shows until his sister came over to cut his hair. After that I went back to Grey's and they went online to do some things.
So it was an eventful weekend but relaxing just the same.
Media quote of the day:
What's the most resilient parasite? An Idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules. Which is why I have to steal it. - Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) - Inception
He's the asshole, Annie, the guy who puts us here. Remember that, ok? - Keanu Reeves
Big asshole. - Sandra Bullock Speed

She's Baaak....maybe
We'll see for how long this time. Man have I been gone or what? Not only did I just stop writing I quit going to other peoples sites as well. It was like I just fell off the face of the earth. There's really no reason either other than laziness. I just quit going on the computer other than to pay bills. I've thought about coming back to it from time to time but just never did.
The real test will be on how long it takes me to write this post. Because I'm already stopping to go do something else. It's 3/19/09, maybe I'll come back today, maybe not.

See, told you, it's now 3/26/09 a whole week later and I'm just now getting back. Yeah, I just don't know about this anymore. I still want to be a journaler but it's just taking the time to actually do it that's the hard thing.

So, let's see, what's happened in the last few months since I posted last....
Not much really. The holidays happened and they went fine, nothing really to report. Two of my nieces turned another year older and their party was same as always. We had a blast playing Apples to Apples Jr.
HDiTty had his birthday in February and I had mine at the beginning of this month. We didn't do anything for either one.
His oldest sister had a baby boy (her second son) in February. He's cute as button of course. He has a heart murmur but just had another dr appointment the other day and the little hole is already sealing up. The dr said that most holes seal up within three years, every now and then it might take up to five. But basically he's fine and that's all that matters.
Crybaby and Pretty Boy are doing just fine. Whiskers isn't doing so well. She's walking on her hind legs rather than her paws and her tail is dragging. Per her x-rays it looks like she may have had a trauma where the tail meets her back. She's on a steroid to help make her better but so far other than a very slight improvement it doesn't seem to be working. But we're going to finish all the medicine before saying it was a bust.
Poydras is doing wonderful. There was a very bad scare with him several weeks back but he's all fine now. HD has psoriasis and Poydras chewed up one of the topical medicines for it. It's a vitamin D base medicine which is really really bad for dogs. Luckily HD caught it quick enough and induced vomiting and took him to the emergency vet right away. He was there from Friday mid day to the following Tuesday mid day. He had energy and couldn't understand why he was there but they were testing his calcium and phosphate levels every 12 hours. Every time they did one would go up and the other would go down. They needed both down to an acceptable level before they would release him. They also had him on an IV of fluids to make him go pee a lot to help clean out his kidneys. But he seems to be all better now with no lasting effects.
He and Pretty Boy are wonderful friends. The play like crazy. Poydras gets a little over zealous sometimes going after PB's hind legs but for the most part they're just great together.

So, ok, it's now 4/24/09!!!! See, told you I probably wasn't REALLY back. Since the last time I wrote Whiskers was taken back to the vet. She had a growth on her front fright leg like she did last year that we had removed. The growth last time was a cyst so we just figured that's what this was too and didn't bother to do anything about it. After she was put on the steroid for her hind legs I noticed a huge round lump on the right side of her throat/neck. Turns out that both growths are cancer. Since she's still eating just fine, going to the bath room just fine and still out and around us and not hiding we decided to take her home with us to live out her last days. When we notice her not eating properly or maybe starting to hide we'll take her and have her put to sleep.
She's lived a long and happy life and it would cost soooo much to have the growths removed if the the throat one even could be. Without and MRI they wouldn't be able to tell where it all is into and the MRI alone would cost a shitload of money. So, for us, the best decision is to do what we're doing. Sad, that's for sure. But at least we were able to make the decision this way and still have time with her unlike a couple of the others that we had to put down.

So that's really about it for updates at this time. I started this at the end of winter and finished it at the beginning of spring. Wow, we'll see how long it takes me to do another one.
Media quote of the day:
Spring, the Sweet Spring by Thomas Nashe
Spring, the sweet spring, is the year’s pleasant king,
Then blooms each thing, then maids dance in a ring,
Cold doth not sting, the pretty birds do sing:
Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!
The palm and may make country houses gay,
Lambs frisk and play, the shepherds pipe all day,
And we hear aye birds tune this merry lay:
Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!
The fields breathe sweet, the daisies kiss our feet,
Young lovers meet, old wives a-sunning sit,
In every street these tunes our ears do greet:
Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to witta-woo!

Taxes, Counseling, Birthday
Well, we got the taxes done and if you didn't read my comment in the last post, we actually ended up with a refund. I really and truly thought we were going to have to pay. So although I hate having to pay so many damn taxes throughout the year I really like the refund we get. We usually get a decent amount and end up buying something we've been wanting and putting off because it's too expensive. This year we're paying off his camera. He bought a really nice one last year from Best Buy using their 12 months same as cash deal and it needs to be paid by July before interest starts up. So the refund will be paying that off.
We did end up having to pay the State though, but not a whole lot, so I'm ok with that.
----------------------------
So he was able to convince his sisters and mom to start counseling with him. Tuesday night was the first night. I decided to go along. I wasn't sure if I should but I am part of the family, I'm one of the people his mom talks to when she needs to vent and I could use it anyway. But I still wasn't sure how they'd take it. Both his sisters seemed just fine but I got a little vibe from his mom when she turned the corner into the waiting room and saw me. Afterward when she was strapping the car seat into the car H Ditty, me and his youngest sister were outside on the other side of the car where mom couldn't hear us. His sister said that mom seemed pissed or at the least, upset. I asked her to find out if it was at least partly due to me being there. She wasn't pissed off that I was there but was uncomfortable apparently. Didn't quite feel good about saying some things with me there. Although I can't understand why since, like I said, she'll tell me all kinds of things any other time.
But since this all came about because of the issues with his sisters and mom I'm going to politely step back and not go anymore. I told HD that we'll see how things go and then maybe he and I could have our own sessions. If it'll help his mom feel more comfortable without me there then I don't need to be there.
--------------------------------------
Today is his other sister's birthday. She turned 29 and says she will remain that age for a long time to come. We hung out with her and her boyfriend over at her and H Ditty's dad's house. Just got home from there about 20 minutes ago. I'm very tired but don't feel like going to bed yet. I really hate that. It's only because I haven't spent any time relaxing in my own home so it doesn't feel right just hopping into bed already. But there's things I have to do before I can do that anyway so I guess I better quit rambling here and get on with it.
Media quote of the day:
You say it's your birthday
It's my birthday too, yeah
They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you

We did end up having to pay the State though, but not a whole lot, so I'm ok with that.

Taxes, gotta hate 'em
Yep, that's right, we still haven't done our taxes. I've told you before, we are the King and Queen of procrastination. I'm just sitting here waiting for H Ditty to get home from work so we can eat and then get 'em done. This year we have an excuse, unlike all the years before. We'll have to pay this time so it makes complete sense to wait until the last minute.
So let's see what's been happening in my world.
Oh yeah, my last post was last Wednesday. Turns out that the fight between his sister and mother made his mother come stay with us for the night because sister wouldn't go back home if their mom was going to be there. Poor thing, I gave her a big hug and told her I loved her when she walked in the door.
Thursday we took his other sister out to dinner and discussed some of what's been going on. Also discussed her ticket that she just got.
Friday we stayed home, can't remember what we did though, probably watched tv. Oh yeah, now I remember. I had a migraine all day and as soon as I walked in the door I laid down on the couch next to him on his computer. Didn't sit up until close to 8 when we finally decided to eat something.
Saturday was spent doing things that needed doing to get ready for our last poker game. It was also the BIG game. I came in 3rd. H Ditty went out 2nd which placed him at 6th place. Oh well, it was fun.
Sunday we did nothing but sit around all day. Well, he worked on a dvd for little sis. He was trying to make a movie/slide show of the pictures he took last Sunday. That took him all afternoon into the night which is why we didn't do our taxes last night.
So back to those, he just walked in the door, we decided what we're eating and I gotta go to let him on here to do his thing before we start on the damn things.
Have a great night all.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas ya'll!! I swear it looked like a picture postcard of Christmas out there today. We got more out where I work than here at home which I thought was weird. Normally we get more here because of lake effect snow. There's a good chance of getting at least another inch overnight and possibility of more later in the week. It sure is pretty but I could do without it, that's for sure.

So H Ditty had to go to his mom's house right after work. His sister (the new mom) was throwing a fit earlier and his mom called and asked him to come over to help diffuse the situation. By the time he got there she (sister) was gone with the baby to some friend's house nearby. I told him to call me, let me know how things are. Also to ask his mom if she'd like to go out to dinner to try to take her mind off of the bullshit, but no call. It's a good thing I nibbled on some stuff when I first got home. But I'm getting hungry again. I guess I'll give him a call, find out how long he'll be.
There are times people, there are times....
This about sums little sis up on many occasions
Media quote of the day:
I was justified when I was five
Raising cane, I spit in your eye
Times are changing, now the poor get fat
But the fever's gonna catch you when the bitch gets back
Eat meat on Friday that's alright
Even like steak on a Saturday night
I can bitch the best at your social do's
I get high in the evening sniffing pots of glue
I'm a bitch, I'm a bitch
Oh the bitch is back
Stone cold sober as a matter of fact
I can bitch, I can bitch
`Cause I'm better than you
It's the way that I move
The things that I do
I entertain by picking brains
Sell my soul by dropping names
I don't like those, my God, what's that
Oh it's full of nasty habits when the bitch gets back
