It's Spring

The grass is turning green and the trees and bushes are budding. Our Magnolia tree's flower pods have broken open and fallen off. Can't wait for the flowers to come out. H Ditty threatens every year, at least twice, to cut it down. He did it for the 1st time this season last night. It's in between our house and garage and many of the limbs hang over the roofs of both. So of course they have to be trimmed quite often. Plus the pods, then the flower petals themselves falling off and laying all over the ground, sidewalk and driveway drives him nuts. I don't like it either but I love the tree and flowers when they're on it. That's when he threatens for the 2nd time. Then in the middle of trimming the limbs. Then again in the fall when it flowers again and the petals and pods end up all over the ground again. Then of course the leaves when they fall. Those leaves are BIG too.

Our neighbor's lilac bush/tree is budding also, love those too. Every year I want to go over and cut some off and bring into the house to make the place smell good but since we don't talk to them I don't think it's a good idea. Actually, they moved, there's new people there now. I haven't met 'em yet but I guess H Ditty met the man the other day. Still, don't think it would be such a good idea to do it though.

I like spring, it's my second favorite season. I wish the temp would stay about what it is in the fall and spring. Summer is too damn hot and humid and winter is too damn cold.

The best part of spring though is being able to open the windows and air out the house. Did that the other day for a couple days, it was great. Then the damn cold front had to come in and make me shut the windows and turn the heat back on. Sucked.

Oh well, it's on its way, that's all that matters.

Isn't it a sad state of affairs that every time I read "pod" in your post I mentally put an I in front of it? (Ipod).

Yeah, that cold front froze my butt off yesterday with the heat off. Jeez, I barely got out of bed this morning with clanking teeth! :)

But the weekend should be nice and we're going on a long hike on Saturday. oh yeah!

Ipod, that's good, I never even thought of it but I'm sure HD did.

Our long hike was doing a bunch of shopping. We started around 11 and didn't finish until close to 4. Luckily we can do nothing today.
