All's well - Updated

I just wanted to come on real quick and say my appointment went well. I've had to schedule an MRI for next Tuesday but it's just to make sure 100% that my pains are just migraines.

I'll write more later.

--------------

Much, much later today. So yeah, had my doctor's appointment today. When we went in they couldn't find me on the schedule. Turns out the doc is in a transition going from a large practice with many doctors to his own private practice. When I called two days after my initial phone call to reschedule I must have gotten someone from the old office that didn't pay any attention to what doctor I was seeing and just rescheduled me. At least, that's what it sounds like to me. But he was standing right there while I was talking to his two assistants and he said he'd still see me since it wasn't my fault the appointment wasn't rescheduled.

So he says exactly what my doctor said, these do seem to be my symptoms, nothing more. But to be on the safe side he wants me to have an MRI just to confirm it. We left his office and drove down the block to an MRI place to see if they take our insurance and to make an appointment. They do and I did. I go in next Tuesday at 11am.

He also gave me a couple prescriptions. I don't remember what one is called but the other is Imitrex. I dropped them off at the pharmacist this evening and will pick them up tomorrow.

He wants to see me in two months for a follow up appointment to see how things are going. He's thinking that my age may have to do with the reason they're happening more often. The whole hormonal thing: getting older and hormones changing and all. He also wants me to keep a diary. When I get one I'm to write down everything I've eaten for the past six hours. I figured I'd also write down any stressors, the weather and anything else that may be a trigger. Hell, the last one two weeks ago coincided with my period so that more than likely was the trigger then. So we shall see.

Good times, good times.

I hope the Imitrex works for you. The hormonal "symptoms" are freakishly weird. My doc got all concerned because I am having cold flashes instead of hot flashes. So we have to do thyroid tests "just in case." I know in my heart it is hormones gone wild because it seems to be cyclical. Here's hoping you find sweet relief.

Thanks, me too! The other one that I couldn't remember the name of is methylprednisolone, it's a steriod. That's the one I have to take to break the cycle of the ones I've been having for the last two weeks. I took my first two today.

Hope all comes out fine with your tests also. I can wait for those days, that's for sure. Heh
