More Randomness

Whiskers is going in for surgery tomorrow. She has a cyst on her front right leg that has grown exponentially and is threatening to burst. Or at the very least be split open by one of the pesky boys when they're attacking her. I have to admit I'm a little worried. The last time we had a cat go under we lost her. That was several years ago and she was pretty sickly to begin with but still. It was completely unexpected and anything can happen, so...

My sample packs of the Topamax ran out on Monday so we put in the prescription and oh my goodness the cost. Thank goodness for insurance. I don't know what determines it but we'll pay either 5, 10, 15 or 20 and insurance covers the rest. This was a $20.00 co-pay and insurance paid $257.00. For a one month prescription. One Month! I take two pills a day, at 60 pills for $277.00 that comes to $4.62 a pill. Unreal, no wonder in the sample pack there was a $25.00 coupon and a card to get on a payment plan. Imagine if I were an epileptic and had to take it for that since that's first and foremost what these pills are for and didn't have insurance.

Same thing with the Imitrex. There's only 9 in the pack and it cost insurance $289.00 so a total of $309.00 with the $20.00 co-pay. That's $34.34 a pill! Boy am I in the wrong business.

We'll be going to a wedding on Friday for a girl I've met only once. But HDiTty was best friends with her brother in high school and is a family friend. Plus she came to our wedding so I figure it's only right I/we go to hers. So I'll be leaving work early Friday to make her 3pm wedding. I mean, really, who gets married at 3pm on a Friday? Yeah, yeah, I know, we got married on a Thursday. But at least we did it at 6pm to at least try to accommodate people's schedules. Oh well. At least I'm leaving for something good for once rather than a damn headache like all the other times.

My birthday is next Tuesday. I'll be turning 38. I can't fathom that age. It doesn't seem logical to me. I cannot be that age, I just can't be, it's not possible. Holy shit, that's right, this year would be my 20 year high school reunion. If they're even having one. I wouldn't go, not that they'd even know where to find me. Then again, I am on classmates. So, yeah, they could find me there now that I think about it. Oh well, I'm actually ok with it really. But I have a feeling 40 is gonna hit me.

Quick Oscars post

So the Oscars pretty much just ended and I have to say this was the first time that I actually didn't care about any of the winners. Normally we would've seen at least several of the movies but we only saw one movie this past year and that was Elizabeth: The Golden Age which was only up for costumes, which it won. So yeah, didn't care about any of the nominees or winners but still enjoyed it for the most part. I was sort of irked though. Although many speeches are rather boring it's always annoying when they're played off. I mean, this is the Oscars for cripes sakes, let the people say their thanks. And we could've done without the few little bits that Jon Stewart did so let the people talk.

Don't get me wrong, he was funny and for the most part kept it moving along but there were a couple things that could have been cut like the binocular and nightmare bits that would've allowed a few more minutes for people to talk. But he did redeem the academy by bringing the one chick back out that got played off who had won for best song to be able to say her thank yous. I thought that was really nice.

And although we hadn't seen any of these movies and a couple we hadn't even heard of before all the award shows we did plan on but just never got around too. I'll have to get them on our Netflix list and get 'em so we can see what all the hypes about. Especially No Country for Old Men. I remember reading about it back when Live Free or Die Hard came out but once again, just never got around to it.

And how 'bout Diablo Cody, the writer of Juno. She looked a little embarrassed going up to the stage, she kept pulling her dress down and then on her way back stage her face fell and her shoulders hunched like she was almost ashamed of herself. I felt so bad for her if that's how she actually felt. I hope not, especially after the last thing she said about thanking her family for loving her the way she is.

Anyway, it wasn't a great Oscar's night but it wasn't a bad one either. I'd write more but it's getting really late and I'm tired so I'm going to bed. Night night.

How silly am I?

I freaked myself out yesterday. It was quite funny actually. Several weeks ago HDiTty was kind enough to clean out the garage enough that I could start parking my truck in there again so I've been doing so. The problem is our door opener broke several years ago so we have to manually open it. Last night I put the truck in park, got out, shut the door, opened the garage door and go back to the truck. I lift the handle and pull. Nothing happens. The door doesn't open. I'm sure I had a stupid look on my face. But I tried it again thinking I just must not have pulled hard enough. Nope, nothing.

So then I did the smart thing. Yep, that's right. I used BOTH hands. Started pulling and saying no, no, no, no over and over again. Let me tell you, it didn't help.

Why I thought to check the back door I couldn't tell you but I did and luckily it was open. So I got in and leaned over the console and unlocked the front door and all was well in my world again.

Free thought writing

I so don't feel like working anymore. I mean, not. at. all. None. Why do I have to work? Hmmm?

Oh yeah, because we have bills to pay and a house to keep. Oh well, I guess I'll be heading back there tomorrow.

I need a vacation. That's gotta be it. I haven't been on one in too damn long. I believe I've written all of this before. That's how bad it is.

You know what's a cute movie? Baby Boom, it's one of those movies that if it's on I'll watch it all the way through. I just watched it and the channel is playing an encore right now and since nothing else is on and I don't feel like turning off the tv right now I've decided to leave it on until I'm done. There's parts of Diane Keaton that make me think of my mother-in-law.

Speaking of my MIL, she came over yesterday to watch 300 because HD and I have been wanting to see Meet the Spartans and she was going to come with and had never seen it. I really didn't expect her to like 300 but she did. And of course Meet the Spartans was as dumb as a rock but there were some pretty funny parts. A few minutes into the end credits they were interrupted and some extra footage was played which I'd say was actually more funny than most of the movie. Especially the part where the king pushed the Dean Cook guy into the pit, that was pretty darn awesome!

That baby is just too damn adorable for it's own good. The baby in Baby Boom that is. Apparently the twin babies who played Elizabeth have done nothing but the movie and the tv show according to IMDB.com

We also saw the Spiderwick Chronicles this weekend. I had read the books when they first came out and when I read in Entertainment Weekly that a movie was being made I was really excited. HD hadn't read the books and neither had his dad and stepmom. It's a good thing I didn't reread them for a refresher or I would've been pissed. I'd say the movie was only 40% of the books. I kept trying to remember what would be coming up next and some things I could but some things that I knew should've weren't. Oh well, as I said, I don't remember enough so I was able to enjoy the movie for itself. It was pretty good, nothing spectacular but for a kids' flick it was good. And especially since we didn't have to pay for it and his dad only had to pay matinee (is that right? oh well, too tired to care right now) prices all things worked out well. I believe everyone else enjoyed it, felt pretty much how I did.

Damn, that James Spader is just a baby in this movie. Which is actually pretty funny considering he's 27 at the time. But he looks like he's 17 which is how old I was when it came out. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. He was 27 playing a teenager in all those teenager movies in the mid to late 80's. Oh who the hell am I kidding it happens all the time. It happened then and it still happens. He's just one that could actually get away with it. Too a point that is. I always figured he was older than me but I didn't think 10 years! Damn!

Oh well, there's always tomorrow right? Right.

No pain

As of 7:45 am on Wednesday the 13th I am headache free. I'm not holding my breath.

EDIT: It's now 9:35 pm and I'm still headache free. I'm so happy it's unreal. There were a couple times that some smells caused some small pain to happen but it didn't last but a few minutes each time.

I'm really exhausted right now so I"m gonna go to bed and hopefully have a good nights sleep and be pain free tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Love it, but sick of it

As mentioned the other day yesterday was HDiTty's birthday. He almost had to go into work but luckily his partner took the overtime. He'll owe her but that's ok. His best friend met us at our house and then we drove out to meet some other friends from his work at Buffalo Wild Wings to have some drinks and food. I had 1/2 a long island before I passed it over to him to finish. For one thing I hadn't had anything to eat for 8 hours and it was already hitting me pretty good and the other I still have a headache and figured I shouldn't be drinking on top of it.

Yeah, every single day I've had aches in the head. They're not going away. I asked the doc if I was going to have to live with this pain and he told me no, we'd figure it out. But I'm starting to doubt. I'm still taking my preventative though because I'm a good girl. Ok, I'm done talking about my head. Ha! Who am I kidding. Although I'm sick and tired of it, it is my life right now so I know I'll talk about it again.

I forgot to tell ya'll what happened over the weekend. Our TV went out. Yep, no TV for us for a few more days at least. I was watching a movie (Independence Day) and it wasn't quite over with when I had to go get HD up for work so I paused it. Now keep in mind we pause the darn thing all the time whether it's the Tivo or DVD so I know it wasn't from doing that. I stay upstairs with him while he's getting ready but I have to go back down to get his work shirt and I notice the screen is black. I don't think anything of it. But then I have to go back down again because I forgot his t-shirt and this time it registers in my little peanut head brain that instead of seeing the president shaking hands with his adoring public after bringing down the bad guys I'm seeing a big huge black screen. I go upstairs and ask HD if he remembers that ever happening on pause before. He says no but reminds me that sometimes when we pause the DVD it does "lose" the "connection" after awhile. But if it does it goes back to regular TV not to black screen, at least that I can remember. And if it did go to a black screen then there was at least sound. There was nothing, just a black screen and instead of the green light stating our screen was on there was a red light like it had turned off.

So I sent him off to work with the idea I'd look into it after he was gone. I turned it off and on several times and each time I turned it back on there was this "keening" sound that was emitting from the TV. The green light would flash like it was going to come on but instead of going solid it would go off and a few inches to the left a red light would then flash. Turns out that red light was the lamp indicator. Yep, our lamp had burnt out. So $200.00 and a couple days wait we should have it back in working order.

Apparently we're lucky though. From what we've both heard/read these lamps tend to go out within 120 days of purchase quite often. We've had our TV for at least 3 years and 4 months. So yeah, we've had it way longer than 120 days.

Snow, snow, snow and more snow. I love it but I'm really really tired of it. It's been snowing all day today but luckily it's been really light so it's been close to no accumulation. But still, come on, it's time to stop. And according to yahoo's weather report it's supposed to do the same kind of thing on and off for the rest of the week. UGH

Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day! - President Thomas Whitmore - Independence Day

Wishy Washy

EDIT: I've started and stopped this entry 2 or 3 times now but I think I'm finally gonna get it finished and posted tonight. (Sunday the 10th that is)

So sure enough the doc put me on a preventative. I'm on Topamax. It's actually an epileptic pill but they found it works for migraines. I'm on 25mg a day right now and will work my way up to 100mg a day by week four.

I went back to work after the appointment although on the way back the pain was getting worse so I really shouldn't have. I lasted until around 2:45 when the spikes started back up. But this time they were throughout my whole forehead area not just my temple. It took me just over an hour to get home because it had started to snow AGAIN. It made the road just slick enough that the dumbasses who don't know how to drive were causing problems for the rest of us. It snowed pretty good for about two hours and then stopped until Wednesday. But that two hours caused all kinds of problems on the roads because it was a sloppy and icy mess. HDiTty had class that night and it took him close to an hour to get to it and it normally would only be about a 1/2 hour or so.

I was in bed before 9pm and although I didn't expect to fall asleep I did and except for when he called me to tell me he was out of class and on his way to work I think I only woke up twice until my alarm went off the next morning. Woke up with the migraine still there so I waited until 6ish when I felt it was ok to call bosslady and bossman to let them know I wouldn't be in. Took an Imitrex and went back to bed. It wasn't just still there either, it was actually worse.

But then HD got home about an hour or so, maybe a little less than that, later and wanted me to get up with him. I realized I couldn't sleep anymore anyway so I got up. I rested on the couch while he played on the computer while we watched some shows. A few hours later he went to bed and some time between 1:30 and 2:00 I laid down on the couch and fell asleep for several hours. It did me a world of good because the pain was pretty much nonexistent when I got up.

BUT, by 10:30/11:00 some pain was back. I really didn't want to take another Imitrex so I didn't, it wasn't quite that bad. I was able to fall asleep almost right away. I did go into work on Thursday and although I was in pain I stayed. It was doable. There were times that I wished I weren't there but for the most part I was glad I went in. But I did get some food on the way home, get there eat it, take an Imitrex and the Topamax, take a nice long hot bath and then go to bed. I was lying down by 8:45 and it felt wonderful. I didn't think I'd fall asleep for awhile but once again I surprised myself and did.

I woke a few times with Cry Baby literally lying across my head and/or face purring to beat the band. And although I couldn't breathe very well the purring actually felt pretty good on my head. But I did have to push him off so I could breathe easier. The last time I woke up, just before my alarm went off, I was on my left side with him across my neck. His head was resting on my chin. He amazes me sometimes.

I was completely pain free while getting ready and for most of my ride in. But, alas, with 10 minutes left to go I started feeling the tightness in my forehead that I sometimes get before I get one. As the day went on it ebbed and flowed. It never got real bad so that was good. But by evening it was bad enough that I took another Imitrex. I only have 3 left in the pack to go before the doc will have to give me another prescription.

I need to get some kind of booklet or day calendar or something to keep a diary of all of this. I had started to do it in word but I didn't keep it up. I think if I have something small enough that I can keep in my purse but sill have enough room for each day for a decent description I'd be more apt to keep up with it.

We got another 9.7 inches dumped on us on Wednesday. I'm glad I stayed home. I don't remember any other winter like this. I think we've seen the ground 2 weeks total this whole winter. From December 1 we've just kept getting snow storm after snow storm. This last one broke a few tree limbs on our pine trees. And this weekend, although sunny and pretty the wind chill is deadly. The temperature was only 1 degree while I was out from 3:30 to 5:00 today.

Yes, silly me went out in it to go get HD a birthday card. He turns 37 tomorrow. We'll be the same age for 22 days then I'll be turning the ripe old age of 38 on March 4th. He is not the easiest person to buy for. Well, he is but he isn't. If it's Saints related or Fleur-de-Lis related you're pretty much a go but a person doesn't have much luck with either of those around these here parts.

And since I am the Queen of Procrastination it's a little too late to order anything online. So I told him we'll have to go to Best Buy or something like that together where he can choose something for himself. Because there's no way in hell I'm going to try to get him something computer related. Hell, I know he wants a phone ear piece thingy but he's so damn wishy washy he can't make up his mind which one he wants and you think I'm going to buy him one on my own? You're crazy!

All right, I'm tired and my head has that tightening feeling going on so I'm thinking I should go to bed in hopes that a good nights rest will do me some good. Wishful thinking I know but so be it.

Here we go again

Was that a great football game or what? I'm more happy than not that the Giants won but I'm a little disappointed we didn't see the history of a 19 - 0 season. But it was a great David and Goliath story that's for sure. And who would've thought the Pats would have scored so low, well, besides Plaxico that is.

And although Tom Petty and the Heartbrakers were good it was a pretty boring half time show. Pretty much a total snooze fest really.

The commercials were ok. There were a few that I really liked but most over all weren't up to superbowl standards. I like the two sentimental ones: The Coke one where Charlie Brown gets it and the Bud one where the dog trains the horse Rocky style. I enjoyed the Pepsi one with Justin Timberlake being dragged all over. I know there's a few more but at this time I'm drawing a complete blank.

I had to make another dr's appointment. About 10:50 yesterday morning I got a very sharp spike in my left temple. I pushed on it and said ow in my mind. Then a few seconds later it did it again and I did it again. Then about 10-15 seconds after that one it did it again but this time it was stronger and I actually said ow outloud. Bosslady was sitting a few feet away and looked at me and asked what was wrong at the same time I was saying, "this can't be good." It happened again and I said ow again. My other coworker looked over and asked what was wrong and said that I looked really flushed and they both told me to sit down, I had been standing at a filing cabinet. So I sat and kept saying ow ow ow every time it happened, one right after another. They both started to tell me I had to call my doctor but I kept saying I didn't want to. Then it stopped. I had no other problems, no headache, no dizzyness, no blurring of vision, nothing.

But they kept badgering me so I finally called and Christy (whom I went to school with) says to me after I told her I was badgered into calling, "Yes, Katrina, you call me when you get sharp spikes in your temple and/or head."

About 20 - 30 minutes later the headache set in so I took an Excederin Migraine pill. Once again it didn't make it go away but it didn't get any worse either. I got more spikes starting at 2:30 and going on and off until 5:50ish. I wrote down the times every time it happened to let the doctor know. The headache was gone by late evening.

I have a slight headache now and I've had one spike so far today. My appointment is for 10:30 this morning. I'm sure he's going to put me on a preventative.

So happy they're back

Stole this idea from Saintseester. She's over there in the link list, go check her out if you haven't already.

I can't wait to be able to watch the season premier. Unfortunately it'll have to be recorded tonight and watched at a later time. HD works tonight and tomorrow night we're going to his sister's house. She's celebrating her divorce, it'll be final tomorrow. I'm hoping to be able to watch it Saturday evening after he wakes up in the late afternoon/early evening and before people start coming over to watch the UFC fight. And of course Sunday is the superbowl so there definitely wouldn't be any watching then. And then he works Monday and Tuesday so if we don't get to see it on Saturday the soonest we'd be able to would be next Wednesday. A whole damn week. UGH!

And I can't wait for Jericho to start back up also. That's a great show and if you haven't been watching you need to start now. Don't worry about not knowing who's who and what's what. They always do those previously on things before each show so I'm sure they'll show all the really really important stuff before the first one next month when it comes back. Plus there's reruns, but can't remember right now what channels have them. Anyway, watch it so it doesn't get canceled as it almost did before all the peanuts got sent to the studio execs.

Ok, so when I went to get the quote from IMDB it shows that SCIFI is airing a few of the shows including the pilot on Feb 11th. It starts back up on the 12th. Watch it!!

Great, great shows.

So how much does this suck? Our computer at home crapped out. I ended up not getting on it at all but HD did after I went to bed. At some point he had to reboot it and it wouldn't come back on. So this morning when I left he was trying to find a floppy to do whatever is required to do whatever to the damn thing to make it start working again. Don't ask me, as I said yesterday I'm not computer savvy.

He's been talking for a while now about wanting a new one but we can't afford what he really wants. But he'll be getting his bonus check soon so he'll use it to upgrade this one. It has been a while since we've done anything major for it, he's thinking maybe 2002. Yep, that's a long time in a computer's life.

This light green isn't really doing it for me. I'm going to see if I can do something about it. If not I'll have to choose another layout.

Man, it's friggen cold again. On my way in it was -2. As the saying goes it's not fit for man nor beast out there.

Alrighty, I'm off to go buy some

New layout test

As previously mentioned I've decided to see about switching up my layout. Since it's Mardi Gras time I thought I'd try some purple and green for right now. I'll leave this one up for a day or two to see how it goes. If you'd like to let me know what you think leave a comment, if not I understand.

Thanks for putting up with me while I switch things around for a bit.

Oh crap, it got rid of my bloglist!! Shit, shit, shit, sorry about that. I'll work on getting it back up as soon as I can.

EDIT: Ok, it's fixed they're over there now. But some of them have a white line through 'em. Please let me know if you see 'em too, even you lurkers out there, I'd appreciate any feed back. Thanks much!

EDIT #2: I have to get my other things up there again too. My link for Douglas K. mainly. But those I'll work on tonight or tomorrow.

Weekend Update

I'm getting tired of my layout. I'm thinking I'm gonna switch it up. I've thought about switching hosts too but I don't think I want to go through all the hassle. Especially since I've never backed up any of my entries. I'm not computer savvy ya know. But then, HD is so maybe I'll make him help me out one of these days.

I might even change my photo from The Brat Prince's eyes to something else. But then, it's nice to see him every day since I can't in real life anymore. Hmm, that's a hard decision to make right there.

HD works this weekend which means I'm pretty much free to do whatever I want. Although I believe he doesn't have to go in until 10pm on Saturday so that means we have at least a few hours together in the evening. Anyway, I'm sitting here thinking about what I'll do with all my free time since I can't play my poker games anymore since he lost all my money. I have an account on Ultimate Bet that had approximately 10 bucks and he lost it all. I mean, I could always play for fun but no one seems to play the same way as you would when playing for real money. Even when playing on 1 and 2 cent or 5 and 10 cent blind tables. Yeah it's only pennies but still, people tend to play more proper anyway.

He was telling me that I can't transfer more money, especially since it's not exactly legal and all. So I told him to push to get me a real game again. As long time readers know we used to have a monthly game. But that got pushed to the wayside when his sister split with her husband who was one of the players. Which also meant we split with his good friend who was one of the players. And a 3rd player alienated most of us by lying to his wife about us saying we didn't want her around and were glad when she quit playing, etc. etc.

There were a few of HD's co-workers who said they'd like to get a game going and it was mentioned on more than one occasion when we've hung out but nothing has come of it. He went to Mexico and another got pretty sick. But they're both back now and dammit I want a game!

Oh well, I have to go for now I'll write more later.

Well, it's now 3 days later. I ended up doing much of nothing over the weekend. Well I did do some things. Friday I went to Sam's to get some stew meat and ended up getting a bunch of other stuff. I can't ever seem to get out of there without spending around 100 bucks. Then I went over to Target to a few things. When I came out the light snow that had been falling had turned into big white flakes that were covering my truck. I actually had to use the scrapper it had covered that much already. I debated on going to the grocery store or not since it was getting to be pretty bad out there but decided I'd rather go now then have to go back out on Saturday to get the rest of the fixings for the stew. I ended up going and luckily got out of there with only what was needed. And although I was only in there for all 15 minutes the truck was covered again. Maybe a little over an inch in all fell so not too bad really by the time it was all done. Got home and put the stuff away, made myself some dinner and then sat in front of the TV for awhile.

Saturday I got up around 8 to spend some time with HD before he had to go to bed. He ended up not having his 8 hour day so had to go in at 6pm. We watched a few shows until close to 11 when he finally went to bed. I went back downstairs to flip through the channels to see what would be coming on for the day. Set up a few things to record then went back up when I felt it'd been long enough for him to fall asleep. I didn't want to wake him up while I was in the kitchen preparing the stew. After that was all done I went back downstairs and watched some movies while playing poker on line (for fun of course).

After sending him off to work I went back downstairs and watched The Fifth Element while playing a different game on the computer. Then went and took a nice long hot bath. After I climbed into bed and continued to read my book with Pretty Boy in my lap.

Sunday after sending him to bed I watched Never Been Kissed. Haven't seen that movie in ages. I forgot how much I liked it. After that I got back into my book and read until it was time to get HD up for work. Made my dinner/his breakfast and sent him off for the night. Watched a little TV while eating. Then read some more until around 7:30 when I turned on the recording of the SAG awards. Then did the same as Saturday night, took bath/read/went to bed.

All in all, another good weekend. I did do some laundry in there also and took out the garbage. So it wasn't all sitting around doing nothing but mostly it was. That's a good thing.

The bad thing though is that my period started. Only 1 week and 3 days after it ended the last time. ONE WEEK AND THREE DAYS!!! That's nuts. I have to make an appointment to get a check up and get on something to regulate the damn things. Oh yeah, and around 10 last night my head started to hurt. And it still hurts now even after taking 2 Aleve this morning. It's not bad but it is annoying as all hell.

Media quote of the day: That thing, that moment, when you kiss someone and everything around becomes hazy and the only thing in focus is you and this person and you realize that that person is the only person that you're supposed to kiss for the rest of your life, and for one moment you get this amazing gift and you want to laugh and you want to cry because you feel so lucky that you found it and so scared that that it will go away all at the same time. - Josie Geller - Never Been Kissed

Damn it's cold out there

It's just too damn cold to be leaving the house. I wish I could stay snuggled in bed surrounded by kitties all warm and toasty. Or even better, snuggled on the couch with HD, kitties and a marathon of movie watching. Work can be damned for all I care.

But alas, can't do so, bills have to be paid so I have to get my butt out of that warm bed and haul myself in to work in -5 degree weather. And it's only supposed to get up to around 10.

It's cold out there people, cold I say!

I thought I had more to write about but apparently I don't. So that's it folks.

Sad tidings

RIP Heath Ledger.

He was such a great actor and he'll be sorely missed. I, like so many others, saw him for the first time in 10 Things I Hate About You. Love that movie, love everything about it. And every time I hear I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You by Frankie Valli I picture him up on those bleachers singing away.

Loved him again in A Knights Tale which we just watched again for the umpteenth time a couple weeks ago.

Loved him in Brokeback Mountain.

Just, love him and now will miss him.

3 heterosexual men

You know what's funny? No? Well, I'll tell you.

What's funny is when 3 heterosexual men sit around discussing the attractiveness or lack of of the quarterbacks in the NFL.

I don't remember how it started but it did and it lasted a good 10 minutes or so. And although it was funny, it was also refreshing. To bad more men can't do so without going into fits about how straight they are.

You know what's good? No? Well, I'll tell you.

What's good is when there's a potential for upwards of 10 people coming to your house to watch 2 football games back to back and only 2 of them show up. It's nice to have a crowd sometimes but yesterday was not one of those days for me. Now, the part that sucks are all the chips bought that will now be consumed by yours truly. Yeah, HDiTty will help of course, but still, it's way more than two people need. But I did make sure I bought the kinds we'll both eat, no weird flavor ones neither of us will. It's a good thing I didn't buy anything else such as snack trays and the like, which I was thinking of doing. But since it was never confirmed on who was coming and/or when I decided to just stick with the chips and sodas and a couple kinds of cookies.

I HATE MY HEAD!!

So yeah, more friggen' headaches. Except for Saturday I've had a headache/migraine everyday again for the last two weeks. All last week I took either Motrin, Excedrin Migraine, Aleve or the Imitrex. Saturday I was ecstatic that I had no pain but it came back on Sunday. I took 2 Motrin around 2ish and a 3rd around 4ish. The pain was basically gone by nighttime. But on Monday when it was back but not real strong, more annoying than anything, I figured that it was BECAUSE of all the medicine I had been taking. That it was a residual headache. So I didn't take anything at all Monday or Tuesday even though on Tuesday it got worse as the day went on.

Yesterday as the morning progressed it got really bad, migraine bad. So I called my neurologist to make an appointment and luckily they had a cancellation at 1:15 so I said I'd take it. Let my bossman know I'd stick around until it was time to leave to make it there and afterward I was going home to rest.

I let Dr Neurologist know that I figured the stuff going on last week was either weather and/or hormone related because our weather was all over the place and I was on my period. I also let him know that I figured the ones from this week were more due to all the drugs I had been taking before. He agreed with me that it could have been any one, any mixture or all of them combined.

So he gave me another prescription for the steroid that I had taken last time I had headaches for 2 weeks straight to break the cycle once again. For those of you who don't remember or didn't see the post from before it's a 6 day medicine. I take 6 the 1st day then 5 the 2nd and so until I'm down to 1 on the 6th day. He said that if this should happen again that he was going to put me on a preventative. He said he could tell from the look on my face that I didn't want to do that but he'd rather have me on that then going through daily headaches/migraines and then going on steroids to get rid of them again and again. I agreed with that more so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this doesn't happen again.

He asked if we had made a follow up last week and I reminded him that we did, for April 9th. He said to keep that date but of course to let him know if anything happens again like this. Said just one or even two, unless they're back to back, I don't have to worry about calling. Only if there's several in a row again.

So I took 3 of the dose of 6 when I got home and laid down on the couch to take a nap. Before bed I took the other 3. Today I feel better although I still have some pain. The head pain has mainly gone away but I've had forehead and sinus pain all day long. I keep rubbing my nose, from the top down both sides. It makes it feel better while doing it.

I've decided to work through it today but if the same type of pain is here tomorrow I'll call the pharmacist and ask if I can take a sinus medicine on top of it. I can't imagine not being able to but it's better to be safe then sorry. Oh damn, now that I'm writing this it seems to me I remember reading before that I can't take anything with acetaminophen in it and most if not all sinus medicine has that as an ingredient. Damn, I guess I'll have to check the paperwork when I get home to be sure.

On an up note, at least the 6 taken yesterday has made me feel a little better. Enough so that a couple people at work even commented that I sounded/looked a little better so that's good.

Stupid Woman

There's this lady who sits in her idling car with her kid while waiting for the bus to come pick the kid up. No problem, it's dark and cold and she's keeping her kid safe. BUT...

There's about 8 other kids on the same corner so it's not like she'd be there by herself.

BUT....

She sits right at the intersection. I'm mean, right. at. the. intersection.

Now normally she at least pulls over so her right side is on the gravel between the street and yard. But she's still right at the stop sign and she's more in the road than not so I and the others coming up still have to go into the other lane to get around her. Very, very annoying and rude to boot.

Today takes the cake. She parked right in the lane. Didn't bother to pull over at all. I wasn't paying attention and didn't recognize the car as hers. So I come up behind the car as you do while driving and then proceed to sit there. I realized who it was after a bit but decided to honk anyway because, well, because. So I do a quick honk because after all, it is 6:30am and not everyone is up at that hour. But no reaction, not even a flashing of the break lights. So I sit for a few more seconds and then laid on the horn. Finally she opens her door and says something, have no idea what, I didn't roll my window down to hear, it's friggin cold out there. She shuts her door, I flash my brights and then back up to go around her.

I so wanted to lay on my horn again or roll my passenger window down to say something to her but decided not too. After all where the intersection is and how our neighborhood is laid out it wouldn't be hard to find my house because I don't park in a garage. For all I know she and/or her kid already know where I live. I doubt she'd do anything but who knows what her husband would do and who knows what kind of friends the kid has. And now that HD is back on nights there's too many of them during the week that I'm by myself. Nope, too risky in this day and age.

But I mean, come on. There's better places for her to park than right at the stop sign and especially in the lane like she did today. Turn right and sit there on that corner. Or turn left and sit on that corner, hell that's where the bus comes up anyway. Or at the very least sit further back in the street so it's completely obvious that you're just sitting there and not some dumb ass that's waiting for the red on the sign to turn green so you can go. Friggin stupid woman.

The pill is playing with my head

Man, so I've had either a migraine or just a headache every day this week until today. Actually, from what I've learned, it was probably the same migraine all three days since I hadn't taken my migraine medicine to actually knock it out. I only took Excedrin Migraine which didn't really help much. Luckily Monday's was manageable, more annoying than anything. Tuesday's was just regular headache pain that Aleve actually seemed to help with.

But yesterday's was the worst. I didn't have any pain in the morning. Which figured since yesterday was my follow up with the Neurologist. He looked at the MRI disk again just to be sure everything is good and it is. He said again that he thinks they're related to my hormones and the weather more than anything. He wants me to go back for another follow up in 3 months.

Monday both were a factor I believe. My period had started late Friday night but I didn't have any pain until Monday. But Monday the temperature was around 65 degrees and raining. Now actually on Sunday the temp had risen to the 60's but we played hermits and didn't leave the basement all day so I wasn't exposed to it at all. So yeah, I'm thinking hitting the warm weather, with it raining after such chilly/cold days played havoc and then on top of that having my period just made it a double whammy.

Anyway, about a half hour after leaving the dr's office my head started hurting again. Within an hour my eyes had gone blurry and the pain was worse. All I had was the Excedrin again so I took a couple of those. I wanted to leave work a few times but at the same time didn't want to so didn't. It sort of ebbed and flowed all day but finally around 9:30 I couldn't take it anymore and took an Immitrex.

I thought the one other time I took one my stomach got upset because I hadn't eaten most of the day and I took the pill only 15 minutes or so of finally eating. Turns out it wasn't because of that. Within 10 minutes of taking it last night my head actually hurt worse and also had a tightness feeling. Then my throat had the tightness. Then the top of my chest had the tightness. Then there was this strange pain like feeling just below and to the back of my left armpit. Then that shoulder felt kind of painful/tight. Then my stomach started to feel upset. But by that time the stronger pain in my head had gone away and it was back to the original pain.

I went to bed still feeling queasy but at least I was able to fall asleep right away. I had a really weird dream though. I know it took place at the house I grew up in but other than that I only remember walking from the garage to the house and as I was walking I picked up a man's wallet that was really thick. I flipped it open but a noise made me jump and I slammed it shut. I remember thinking that it must be the man's that had been missing for a couple days. I took it with me into the house and as I was walking in the back door HD came to bed and woke me up. The first thing I thought of is that now I'll never know the man's name or if he'll ever be found.

Unless I dream about it again. I have been known to have serial dreams. But what's weird is that I don't have the dreams consecutively. It could be days or even months before I have another one that coincides. But once I do I have a moment that I know I'm dreaming and that it's the next "part." I sort of had/have that feeling about this one but for once I'm not sure why. None of what I remember is familiar so I'm wondering if the parts I can't remember had something to do with another dream. Or the pill is just playing with my head. But I digress big time.

So in conclusion, although I felt worse after taking the pill it seems to have helped. So far so good today, no head pain. I'm hoping it stays that way.

Great weekend

I think we had one of the best weekends we've had in a long time. It had just the right mix of activity and laziness. Friday after work we met at the movie theater and saw Aliens v. Predator - Requiem. We had tried to see back on New Year's Eve but the projector crapped out about 40 minutes in and they couldn't get it back up. This was a our local theater that we never go to unless all else fails. Looks like it'll be a cold day in hell before we go back again. Anyway, it was pretty good. Not as good as the first one but still good. After we went home and played some Texas' hold-em to determine who could pick what we were going to watch next. He won. Put in Four Rooms. If you like off beat humor you'll like this movie. Just make sure no kids are around. I like the movie but HDiTty loves it. Tim Roth and Antonio Banderas are the best people in it, although many others are pretty darn good too.

I was in bed by 2am, not sure what time he came to bed. I got up around 10:30 ish or so and by 11 I was soaking in the tub. He got up a little after noon and then we laid and even wrestled (and yes, I mean wrestled, that's not a euphemism for anything else) around for awhile until we had to get ready to leave. Stopped off at Target and got gifts for two of my nieces and then headed over to their father's house for their birthday party. We were there by 3:30, just before everyone else showed up but still late. Food was ready and on the table by 3:00. But then, it was all food that was ok with sitting out, it just got a little chilly is all. Around 7ish we started playing Apples to Apples Jr. Which was one of the gifts I had bought. We played until 11:45 when the 2nd game was finally over and we realized what time it was.

Got home and finished watching A Night's Tale, which we had started while eating a little bite before we had left to do the gift shopping earlier. I was in bed around 3, once again, don't know what time he came to bed. I woke up around 10:30 again but laid in bed snuggling with Cry Baby and Whiskers. When I finally got up I was hungry and going to make blueberry muffins. But the muffin mix I had bought a while back turned out to be unusable. I had left it out on the counter the day I bought it and Cry Baby at some point tore it up, but didn't realize it when I had put it away in the cabinet. So when I went to make it and saw all the holes in the bag I decided there's just no way I was gonna use it. Damn cat!

I ended up eating pretzels instead waiting for HD to wake up so we could have a proper breakfast. He didn't get up for a couple hours though. I was playing poker on line, losing and winning but nothing big either way. He finally got up around 2:00. A little bit later I let him get on the computer for awhile. And for the rest of the day we watched tv/movies, played on line, played cards with each other and general did much of nothing. It was really nice. At nine we watched some of the news and saw that it had been a basically nice day outside. Who knew, not us that's for sure. But that's ok, even if I had known it was nice I don't think we would've gone out.

I like weekends like that, we need them more often.

Sad, but fun just the same

So yeah, the game was sad but we had a lot of fun. We picked up his uncle and cousin and were on our way down around 10:30. We missed the kick off and also the Urlacher interception. Which I was ok with but his cousin was sad about. It had just happened as we were entering the stadium. We heard the cheering and on the tv screens we saw 54 all over it. We had gotten tied up in traffic and sat and sat and sat for ever.

His cousin is an 11 yr old girl who is a HeeUge Bears fan. It was her first professional live game. I have to say that for her first game it was just about the best one she could go to. Other than maybe one of the Bears/Packers games this year.

We were sitting in between the 40 and 45 yard lines on the Saints side 19th row off the field. It was basically the same as last year's game. Except last year we were further south closer to the other 40/45 yard lines and one row closer to the field.

The fans around us were pretty good for the most part. There was really only one pain in the ass and even he was tame compared to most of the asshats we've come across. The best fan ever that we've come across was sitting two rows right in front of me. He was drunk as a skunk but was as friendly as can be. We've never come across a better drunk at a game yet. I can't get my photo to download correctly so as soon as I can get HDiTty to fix it for me I'll post his picture. At the end of the game I got a picture of him and HD. I forgot to get his name though, I meant to and then completely blanked. He hugged me something like 3 or 4 times before he and his friends finally left.

All four of us were screaming our heads off. Cousin was screaming just as loud as us adults and standing up and sitting down over and over. And right before they got the safety she's yelling, "Safety! Safety!" over and over again. I look at her and say that I can't believe she even knows what "Safety" means. But I'm happy she does. We later found out that she's a cheerleader and she won an award for being the loudest voice. I got it first hand.

After the game we went down to the bottom of the seats to see if there was any way of getting anything or even just a good photo or two. As we were finally getting ready to leave we turn around and just over a bit there's a guy dressed in a bear outfit. He had a head, paws and feet and then a Bears uniform on. We went over so HD could get a photo of cousin with him. He put her head in the mouth so it looks like he's biting her head.

I wasn't going to but then decided it'd be fun. So I go up to him and ask if he'll take a photo with a Saints fan, he says he will. I was gonna take a normal one just standing side by side but then he all of a sudden grabs my head and puts it in his mouth. He hollers at his friend to take a photo too, hopefully his came out as well as ours.

Welp, I just got back from running an errand. HD needed some lotion for his tattoo so I had to take it to him at work. But while there he was able to help me out with the photos. So here they are. Click on them for a larger image.

This was done on Saturday afternoon. As you can see it was right after it was completed. His skin is all red and swollen. The fleur-de-lis in the middle is his original tattoo from 10 years ago this past August. He got it in Wisconsin Dells on our way home from going to fall training when they used to come all the way up north to LaCrosse Wisconsin. My brother Wayne, as I believe I mentioned before, put some money towards HD getting the larger tat as his Christmas gift. Wayne's buddy who owns a shop drew it up. It's his first one and for being that I have to say it looks pretty damn awesome. I really like how he kept the originals color so it didn't blend in too much. He did touch it up though because it had faded some over time.

This is from the West side of the stadium as we were stuck in traffic. We had to go all the way past it, then turn around and come back. Turn right go to the other side on the East take a left and go almost to this end again before we turned into the parking lot that's underneath.

This is from our seats. As you can see we were almost perfectly on the 40 yard line.

This is drunk guy and HD. Now, normally I wouldn't put a stranger's photo up that I didn't first ask permission for but screw it. He was great guy and was taking photos with a few different people. So I'm sure his photo is up on several blogs from several different games. As mentioned though, he was a great guy and I can't imagine him actually having a problem with it.

This is where the Bear eats the Saint.

Media quote of the day: It only took the bears two hours. - Bearded Man - Lost

Well, closer to a little over 3 hours, but still, they got the job done when the Saints didn't. Sad, but fun just the same.

1 Year

Yesterday marked my one year anniversary at my new place of employment. So far so good. It's not perfect but then what job is? At least I'm not looking at the want ads to see what else is out there so that's good.

I have so much to write about and so little time. So I'm gonna write a list of the topics I want to write about for later tonight when I have the time. I probably won't write about them all tonight but at least it'll be a reminder for the next update.
  1. The game (sad but fun)
  2. New Year's Eve
  3. New Year's Day
  4. Other stuff that for some reason I'm drawing a blank. See, this is why I wanted a list.

Ta ta for now.

On Christmas we made it to his sister's house just after 7:00 but no one was there yet. Turns out they were on their way home from watching The Waterhorse. His nephew really liked it but it reminded their father and his sister's boyfriend of Free Willy. Said it was good but too much like Free Willy.

We weren't their 15 minutes and his step mom started passing out the presents. Sad that two of the items they gave me had to go back. One was a protector for my iphone, but I like the one I have, they gave one to HD too but he doesn't need two of them. Also they gave me a headset but the round part that goes in my ear is too big. It wouldn't fit at all. They gave HD an external hard drive from Apple for his lap top but it's a smaller version and he wants the big one so he took all of those items back yesterday and will get the larger version. We'll either get me a different headset from Apple or go with another company that we were looking at on line on the 24th. It never occurred to me to even think about the part that goes in my ear but it should have. The ear pieces that go with the cord that came with the phone barely fit. The slightest tug on the cord pulls it right out.

They also gave me a new nail kit with a pink bag to put everything in. And some lounging clothes. They're black and white with a fleur-de-lis on the left side of the chest, can't remember if there's a pocket there or not. I'm hoping it fits. My SIL, who had my name on my side of the family, also gave me pajamas. The bottoms fit with no problem but the top is a little snug. But they're really really soft so I'll probably wear them anyway. Just one more incentive to stick to the weight loss resolution this year.

Yesterday was back to work day. I really didn't want to go. And although it was nice and quiet it was a long one. Although hectic days can wear you out they at least go quickly. Today is another one: quiet but long. It's only 10:40 and it feels like it should be 12:40. Oh well, back to it.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it and Happy 25th to those that don't.

My family got together on Sunday. We got there just as everyone was sitting down to eat, perfect timing if I do say so myself. HD had to work overtime the night before from 10pm to 6am. He took a nap until 12ish when I woke him up to start getting ready. He helped do a few last minutes ribbons and got ready while watching the first half of the Saints game. They looked like they just might pull it off, sure they were down going into the half but were putting up a fight. But they lost Stecker and he's a key player right now. The family was watching the Bears game when we got there so we were getting updates at least. And, at least we got to see someone get their asses handed to them. Go Bears! Until next week that is. They can sit their asses down then.

We haven't gotten our tickets yet, still don't know where we'll be sitting. And now there's a slim chance I won't go. Family things have come up and we might give my ticket to one of them. We'll see, things need to be discussed before that's official.

After eating the kids were ready to start in on the opening of the presents. My brother Wayne had HD's name. Wayne has a friend who owns a tattoo place. On Thanksgiving Wayne and HD had talked tats and what they've both been wanting to do. HD has been wanting to have another fleur-de-lis wrapped around the one he has now on his left arm. So I had taken a couple photos of it and sent it Wayne who took it to his friend who then sketched a few sketches and decided on one. So they made a copy of it and Wayne made an appointment for him this Saturday at noon. But we'll have to reschedule. I thought he took this whole weekend off but he didn't, he'll be working until 2pm. So we'll have to reschedule for later in the day if there's an opening.

Afterward we played a game of Scene it TV then two games of Scene it Disney. Visited for about 20-30 minutes then played Apples to Apples. We had a good and loud time. I'm glad I brought the games over. Well, not the Disney, that one was already there.

Yesterday HD worked again and I did the last minute shopping and then wrapping of his family's gifts. We made it to his grandma's about 7:15. Dinner was just being put on the table so once again perfect timing. His sister had to go pick up her son from his dad's house so when they got back we opened presents.

It's so much fun watching kids open presents. Their little faces lighting up. Heck, even adults when you know you got them the right present.

His niece who's nine months was really excited over a present his other sister gave her. Later on after everyone was in the other room and only his mom, two sisters, niece and I were in one room together K started playing with her toy. Her mom was talking to her sister when K started to sit and stare at her gift and then all of a sudden start to clap. My MIL and I called J to look at K. It was the first time she clapped and she did it on her own. Now J had been trying to get her to do it for the last couple of days but she never did, didn't even begin to, and now she did it all on her own. Luckily HD's camera was there and she kept doing it so I got several pictures in a row of her clapping. Too cute.

We got home close to midnight. HD went to bed and I stayed up to do some laundry he needed for today, he had to work again. I finally woke up around 10 and haven't done much of anything all day. Basically, watched some tv and played poker on line. But I still have the couple presents for this dad and step mom to wrap to I guess I'll go do that and then clean up. The room is a mess with wrapping paper and bows all over the place.

After he gets off work we'll be heading over to his sister's house to open presents from his dad and step mom. I really don't want to go back to work tomorrow.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Why oh why won't the pains go away?

I swear, am I ever going to feel 100% again? It's really pissing me off. Every day this week I've had something going on. Monday I was finally feeling better, as my title and post said but within an hour of posting I started to feel like shit again. It just got worse as the day went on. During the football game I was half out of it but stayed up instead of going to bed to be a cheerleader for the Bears because my Saints depended on it. Didn't help though, that's for sure. Tuesday I felt better than Monday but still wasn't so good. Wednesday was feeling a little better again but by the afternoon had sinus issues. Then yesterday I was almost back to normal until around 3ish when sinus issues started up again. Just the pressure at the top of the nose and in between the eyes was horrendous.

Then I went and got my hair cut by HDiTty's sister but she wasn't able to start on it until almost 9:00 because she was doing their mom's hair. Afterward we all went to dinner so I didn't get home until 11:30. Today at work we're doing a "snack day" and I was going to make some cookie type things but because I wasn't home all evening I never got a chance to. The good thing though is that we also did it yesterday and I had made my beloved Blueberry Fluff. So I did contribute but I still felt bad about not bringing anything. I also was hoping to get a few things for some coworkers and never did. And this morning I couldn't find my key for work. The accounting dept is in a locked office you see and that's the key I couldn't find. So I was stressing a little bit and now have a friggen headache that's of migraine material. BUT, I took some Excedrin Migraine and I'm hoping it'll kick in real soon. My stomach is finally better though. About 30 minutes after taking the pills my stomach started to feel upset, I'm thinking it was the pills and the diet coke I used to take them. But it's mostly settled now.

I counted up how many people we have left to buy for it's 13. THIRTEEN, and 7 of them are in my family. We only have this evening and tomorrow to get the presents and then wrap everything up. AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!

And my damn tree still isn't decorated yet!! It might get some lights on by tomorrow sometime. Maybe. Hopefully. We'll see.

Yeah, I'm stressing a little bit over here. But we have continuous Christmas music going to get me through the day. HAH! It's been going since the 4th. So I've been hearing the same songs over and over every day multiple times a day. On the 5th I actually kept track. By noon out of the 32 songs played 10 of them were played 2 or more times. Out of those about 4 of them were played 3 times. One of them was played 4 times. 3 and 4 TIMES BEFORE NOON people. That's just crazy. Be very happy if your place of employment doesn't play your local Holiday station.

OK, here it's several hours later I still have the damn headache. I think it's not gonna go away until I'm able to relax at home tonight.

Feeling better

So I'm finally feeling better. Not quite 100% but close enough. And we did some shopping yesterday so about half the kids are done, his mom is done, one of his sisters is done and my brother is done. But even with all them we're still not even half finished. We're supposed to go again tonight after I get off work but I have a feeling it won't happen.

The football game tonight is an important one for the Saints. I'm already a Bears fan but tonight I have to be as big a fan of them as I am of the Saints. They really really need the Vikings to lose to help with the wild card slot. So I have a feeling he's going to try to convince me to stay home and watch it. But after they win then I have to go back to not being as big a fan, especially on the 30th when we'll be seeing them at Soldier Field. Now HD lost a bet last year when they met last time and that bet was that he'd have to be a Bears fan the next time they played. He was going to try to bribe the person he made the bet with by offering him the 4th ticket to the game for free in exchange of not having to be a fan. But the guy can't go so I asked him what he'd do. He said he might welch on it. Or he'd wear a hat but still have on his Saints shirt. On the back of the hat he'd put a sign stating he lost a bet. I like that idea the most but it is a dilemma since it's not really the way the deal is supposed to go. But then, I don't think he really cares to much, it's not like the guy would know since he's not going.

I'm not completely opposed to the idea of staying home though, since we still haven't decorated the tree yet. It looks awfully sad over in it's corner with no lights or ornaments. If we stay home then I can decorate while watching the game. And maybe even get the presents wrapped. Hmm, maybe I'll suggest staying home. I don't know though, we really need to get the shopping done. I hate dilemmas!

Media quote of the day: I'd say I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not. I excel at not giving a shit. Experience has taught me that interest begets expectation, and expectation beget disappointment, so the key to avoiding disappointment is to avoid interest. A equals B equals C Equals A, or whatever. I also don't have a lot of interest in being a good person or a bad person. From what I can tell, either way, you're screwed. Bad people are punished by society's laws, and good people are punished by Murphy's Law. So you see my dilemma. - George - Dead Like Me.

Now that was a great show, too bad it didn't last.

Sick again

I have been feeling like shit all week, it's sucking the big one hard. Tuesday we had a bad ice and rain day and the roads were crappy as all hell but I drove all the way out to work in it feeling horrible. I had been up since 2am sitting on the pot. Going back and forth between hot and cold too. Plus it didn't help that I had to get up earlier than normal because I had to take HDiTty to work because my truck was at the shop. Yeah, I finally, or I should say HD finally called the shop for me. We dropped it off Monday night for the bumper, back up sensors and right turn signal to be fixed. Anyway, I really didn't want to go in but I don't have anymore sick time plus I've already missed a day or two every month since August.

But as soon as I walked in Bosslady was telling me to go home. She could tell I didn't feel well just by looking at me. I kept trying to say I need to stay and she kept telling me to go home. So I clocked in for all of two minutes before I was on my way back home. But it was a good thing I went, my stomach was cramping and I could tell I was getting a fever. I stopped at a gas station on the way home and got a couple sprites, got home changed clothes then laid down and rested. Well, in between getting up and going to the bathroom that is. Finally around 12ish I was able to fall asleep for a pretty decent nap.

But around 1ish HD called and woke me up telling me I needed to get with Enterprise to get my rental car. I went about doing what needed doing for that but not getting the van yet because we were going to wait until he got off work to do that. Then I get a call from the shop saying they had to order my bumper and it won't be in until Friday so they won't be able to even start work on it until Monday. They said I should pick it up rather than leave it there until Friday because the guys insurance company won't pay for a rental for the days that it's just sitting there but drivable. So I had to call Enterprise back and put the van on hold until Saturday morning.

As a surprise Christmas gift HD deciding to have a remote starter put in my truck. But because of the price he decided it'd be best to tell me about it. So even though I knew about it before we went to pick it up it was still a surprise because the iphones were supposed to be our gifts to each other. So I'm a happy girl because they went ahead and put it in while they had it and then on Friday I'll drop it back off on my way home.

Yesterday I went to work and was ok for the most part until 3ish when I started to go down hill. But I stayed of course. Now today I'm feeling almost as bad as I did on Monday. I'm not running to the bathroom like then but I've gone back and forth between hot and cold. My face hurts, my eyes hurt and I'm completely drained of all energy. And this morning when I went to the bathroom my (this is gonna be gross - don't take a bite of anything) shit was green. GREEN people!!! So I looked it up and it says any green food, such as leafy greens can cause. Don't eat leafy green foods. It also says any foods with green food coloring such as Popsicles or green icing can do it. Haven't eaten anything like it. Then, the last thing says that diarrhea can cause it too. Well, I haven't had that since Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't green then so why the heck would it be now. But luckily I haven't done anything but pee since this morning so hopefully it's all done.

Got my Christmas tree, I'm happy girl

Well, I finally got my Christmas tree. We got it last night but just now put it in the stand. I didn't know where the stand was last night and by the time we got home was pretty tired so decided to wait until today. Tomorrow we'll decorate it. By then all the branches will have fallen and we'll see what limbs will need to be trimmed, if any, and which part looks the best to have facing into the room. Although, from what I can see right now it looks good from all angles. We got a wreath too. I've never bought a wreath before. I put some small wooden ornaments on it that my father gave me when I was kid. They look good.

I called my brothers trying to get a list for the kids since I still haven't gotten anything out of them. Scott says he still hasn't received anything himself. All I can say is that I'm not giving anyone any money. Even if I have to make sure there's gift receipts for everything I'm not giving money.

I was at Sam's club earlier this morning and saw some really pretty black and red wrapping paper, decided I needed it and then saw a package of red paper. They were in packages of 4 different styles. After grabbing those two packages I saw a 2nd package of red paper with 4 more designs on each and decided I needed those too. So we'll wrap all gifts in these, it'll be a red theme. I'm going to try to remember to wrap at least 2 or 3 empty boxes for my MIL. She says every year that the gifts we wrap are just too darn pretty for opening. So this way she'll have some pretty presents that she doesn't have to open. She can just sit back and admire. But HDiTty will have to do the ribbons, if any, that will be put on because I can't do ribbons and bows as well as he can. In fact, he's the one who taught me how to wrap so darn pretty in the first place.

I think I'm gonna get my mom the movie of The Phantom of the Opera. I mentioned last month how we took our mom's to Chicago to see the musical. It was really good but since neither of them have ever seen it before, in any capacity, they didn't know much of what it was about which then makes it harder to understand when watching it live. So we loaned our movie to them both, in fact his mom still has it, I wonder if she's watched it yet. Anyway, my mom took it home the night after the play and did watch it. When she gave it back to me on Thanksgiving she said she really enjoyed it, was able to understand more and said it would be one she'd watch again. I know she'd never buy it for herself so I think I might. And maybe a Netflix subscription for 6 months or a year. They don't watch a whole lot of tv but I know they like to watch movies. They don't have cable or satellite tv so it's not like they have access to movies other than rental places or us kids. I believe it's something they'd really like. We gave them passes to the local theater last year also. But once again, not something we can give again without looking like we're copping out.

I saw some really cool dolphins at Jewel (a grocery and pharmacy store for those of you who don't have Jewel in your area) but didn't get them because they're on sale and I don't know if I'd be able to bring them back if HD didn't like them well enough to give to his sister. She loves dolphins and it's actually been a while since we gave her any. I'll have to take him there to check 'em out and see if he'll like them well enough to give. Have no idea what to give anyone else in his family.

And we only have two weeks now, I'm so running out of time. My family will be getting together on the 23rd so all of their things have to be gotten and wrapped by the 22nd. I found out that we'll be getting the 24th off at work, apparently that never happens so this is a great treat. Anyway, since HD has to work that day until 6pm I'll have the day to finish anything that has to deal with his mom's side of the family, if anything. Along with his dad and stepmom who we'll be seeing on Christmas Day, again, after he gets out of work at 6pm. Normally he's off at Christmas because he has seniority so his vacation gets granted before anyoneelse's. But since he took all his vacation time to go to Mexico in July he didn't have any left over for the holidays. Which sucks, but so be it.

Christmas gifts - What to do?

This is my 200th post. Seems weird that I've done that many posts. And other times it seems weird that that's all I've done. But then, when I go a whole week without writing anything it makes sense. Anyway.

So Christmas is upon us and we haven't even begun to do our shopping. We have one gift bought and that's because it came from Tupperware and one of the chicks at work was having a book party. I got HDiTty's niece the Shape-O Toy. I remember loving that toy as a kid. Never knew it was a Tupperware item until I saw it in the book and new immediately I had to buy it for her. So other than that toy nothing has been bought for anyone. We have 8 more nieces and nephews to get for.; 4 brothers and sisters; 5 parents and one grandma. Oh yeah, one cousin who's only 12 so since she's a kid we still get her a gift. And then two kids who are HD's best friend's kids. And other than one niece who provided a list a couple weeks ago for her birthday, we have no idea what to get for anyone.

My brothers and I, since we were kids, trade names. This also includes in laws. HD and I have one of the brothers and his wife. We had them last year too. The exact same way even, I had my brother and HD had the wife. We got them gift certificates to a local theater which they used to see Peter Frampton I believe. They liked the gifts but I'm not sure it'd be a good idea to do the same thing again. So now I have no clue what to do. He's not an easy guy to buy for. And she never gives any ideas either. I just don't know.

I've been wanting to get a tree for the past week but we haven't done that yet. I really wanted to go today but unless we go this evening it doesn't look like it'll happen. If it doesn't I might stop on my way home from work tomorrow. I pass three places that sell 'em. Two are nurseries so you know they're fresh trees. I had a fake one last year but that's because I wasn't working then and we couldn't afford to buy one and my mom gave me an extra one that she had. It was ok but I much prefer real ones to fake ones.

I love this holiday the most but for the last couple of years it's been more depressing than not. Last year because I wasn't working I couldn't give gifts the way I normally have. Because we don't have kids ourselves I tend to spoil all the kids in our lives. We couldn't do that last year, we were only able to give one gift to each kid when normally we would give 3 or 4 to each. They wouldn't be very expensive, probably totaling 40-50 dollars a kid but last year we only spent 20 bucks on each which resulted in one gift bought. Each one got a Nintendo game. I know it sounds like it's about the money, how much I spend and all but it's not. It's that I want them to have a bunch of items to open not just one from us. I think I'm gonna send an Email to the parents and try to get lists out of the kids. I should do that now, the sooner the better.

See ya.

Media quote of the day: Christmas is awesome. First of all you get to spend time with people you love. Secondly, you can get drunk and no one can say anything. Third, you give presents. What's better than giving presents? And fourth, getting presents. So four things. Not bad for one day. It's really the greatest day of all time. - Michael from The Office
