So, today marks my one year mark for doing this blog/journal thing. I've enjoyed it so I think I'll keep it up for a while longer. Most people seem to do a link entry, I don't know if I'll do that. I'll have to think about it as I write.
I started this, as I've mentioned before, as my online journal for the most part. I don't get very deep or personal but then, when I used to have book style journals I never got real deep either. I might do one from time to time but mostly it's just a place to jot my thoughts at the moment or what's been going on in my life.
In that respect I've actually censored myself. There's been many many times I've wanted to come on here and vent about my sister-in-law but I haven't. No one in my personal life reads this site except for my husband but that doesn't matter. I know he wouldn't care for it if I came on here and bitched about his sister. And if the day ever came that she or any of his other family members found the site and read what I've written, well, that'd be not such a good thing. This little bit here could cause issues. And I so don't want issues, so I'm gonna stop right there.
Ok, I guess I'll do a link post. I haven't had that many readers so I can't really do a favorites list in that way so I'll link to my favorite entries.
My 1st sorta drunk post. That was a fun night.
Ah, I can still remember how pissed I was at the person who went to the bathroom before me.
Our friend Bri. We miss him.
Halloween. I love this holiday.
I enjoyed writing this post about music. Trips down memory lane can be quite enjoyable.
My two picture posts. Love snow and how it makes everything look but hate the shoveling.
Yuummmm, carrot cookies!!
I love my husband. He's one wonderful man.
The one where Crybaby completely grosses me out.
The one where The Brat Prince makes me cry.
So there you have it, my favorites in my 1st year. Some were sad but I still like the posts themselves.
Thank you to all who've stopped by and especially to those of you who continue to come by and even leave a comment every now and then. I appreciate it.
Media quote of the day: I wanted to, you know, thank you so much for going through those coroner reports, because I can imagine how not fun it is to read about, you know, coroner stuff. - Angel in Angel
I'm sorry, Willow. Thank you for making time in your busy life to come in here and get in the way of mine. - Anya in Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Thank you for your time - Rachel Green - Friends
I couldn't decide on which thank you I wanted to end with so you got 3.

Movie Review
Ok, so that was one great movie. It was totally unbelievable, totally silly, but totally an enjoyable ride. Bruce Willis still has it. I enjoyed him more playing an overprotective dad than an overprotective husband. His fight with the bad girl was a lot of fun. H Ditty nailed it on the head, we haven't seen a chick get an ass kicking like that since Patricia Arquette in True Romance. The difference is this chick kicked ass back and it was, once again, a lot of fun to watch.
His daughter is a chip off the old block. Her role isn't big but she did a great job.
And Justin Long, what can I say. I love me some Justin Long. Have from his beginning on the tv show Ed. Well, I don't know if that actually was his beginning but it was the first thing I had ever seen him in.
I liked the fact that the head of the government body that's fighting the bad guy automatically sides with McClane. Just about every one of these types of movies he would automatically be fighting with him, disrespecting him and so not believing anything he says. But instead his scoffs goes towards Home Land Security's guys.
Oh yeah, Kevin Smith. Love me some Kevin Smith too. Simply put, he's great in this role as a computer geek holed up in his mom's basement.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! But make sure you go in leaving your sense of reality at the door because otherwise it'll bug the shit out of you. If you go in with the attitude of just sitting back and going along for a fun ride without having to tire your brain trying to figure who's who and what's what then you will enjoy this film.
Move quote of the day: Did you see that? - Matt (Justin Long)
Yeah I saw it, I did it! - John McClane

Live Free or Die Hard
I am so dang tired right now it's unreal. H Ditty sent me an Email earlier today saying he was given tickets for the Live Free or Die Hard tonight, a midnight showing. He asked if I wanted to go, said I was already pretty darn tired and I had to work in the morning. So then he suggested I take a nap when I get home from work, we go to the movie, I sleep some more and then get up and go to work. So I said I would.
At first I thought I'd have a hard time falling asleep when I get home this evening but as the day is going on I have a feeling I'll do just fine. I've been yawning now for the last 5 minutes and my eyes are sore from being tired.
Ok, gotta do it, sorry. Nah, never mind, I'm not sorry. This is my site and I'll put whatever quote I wanna and not feel bad for it no matter how cheesy!

Movie reviews
We saw a couple movies last night. Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer and 1408. We both agree Silver Surfer was basically stupid. There were some good parts though so we both give it a C- maybe a C. There had been a small discussion of seeing Evan Almighty instead. But he decided he could wait for the DVD, although I don't want to I said ok since Silver Surfer is more of a "Big Screen" type film. Yeah, we should've seen Evan Almighty.
1408 was better. John Cusack did a great job as did Samuel L. Jackson as the hotel manager. There were some really good spooky parts. There were some typical scary movie spooky parts. I thought the ending could have been a little better though. So I give it a B, HD gave it B maybe B-.
I think the last time I was in a theater where the audience was completely quiet (for the most part) was back for The Sixth Sense. Everyone was so into watching this that you could almost feel the tension in that huge room. There were the normal sounds of a sneeze here, a cough there but except for the two people just to my left it was one quiet room.
The two to my left...When they first started to talk to each other (about 1/2 way in) they were fairly quiet and the only reason I heard them was because the rest of the audience was so quiet. Then as they continued to talk they got a little louder each time. They never actually got to a full voice but they weren't far from it. Then near the end the chick's cell phone rang. And guess what, she answered it! Can you believe that!?! It rang 3 times and she answered it 3 times. Rude ass people.
But over all it was a nice night out. After, we came home and finished off watching Everybody Loves Raymond's 7th season. I got into bed around 1:45 and he crawled in close to 4:00. As far as either of us know there's no plans for today so I think we'll be lazy today. Especially since tomorrow will be filled with helping his sister move. Yeah, that's gonna be fun in the 85 degree and sunny weather. UGH!
Media quote of the day: That room is fucking evil. - Gerald Olin - 1408 (AKA the Baddest Motherfucker in the room, AKA Samuel L. Jackson)

A little sad
On my way to and from work I pass an intersection where two teenage girls lost their lives. They were in the car together along with two other girls. There's two trees where friends and or family put a cross, flowers, photos of them. One for each tree.
Now the town where this happened in neither girl lived in. In fact, I believe they lived in two separate towns that were at least a few over from this place (if my memory serves right). Also, I believe, all 4 girls were from different towns. They were cheerleaders or dancers or something along those lines and were headed to or from some event. Man, sorry, I didn't read the articles about them myself because so many people were talking about them at work. Anyway, they apparently knew each other but I don't know how good of friends they were.
Since this happened, and it's been a couple months now, someone has been mowing the grass around the area at one of the trees. You can see where the city worker mows and then you can tell where the family member or friend mows. I've seen a few times now on my way home teenagers walking up to this girls tree to visit.
I've never seen anyone at the other tree and also no one mows around it. The city worker mows within 1 FOOT of it. ONE FOOT people. You'd think he'd take the extra 5 seconds it'd take to mow at least one strip around it. But no, never happens.
I feel so bad for her. But then, maybe her family and friends don't want to go there and be reminded of it. Maybe they'd rather remember her in places she was alive and well.
I don't know, all I do know is that every single time I drive past I can't help but look over and feel a little sad.

Lazy Weekend
I love lazy weekends. Except for some laundry and a little light cleaning I didn't do much of anything this weekend. This is H Ditty's weekend to work so he had to go to bed at a decent hour. On Friday I went with him since I was pretty tired myself. I think it was around 10:00/10:30. Ended up getting up right after him which means I was up and about at 5:30 yesterday. I planned on going back to bed after feeding the cats and helping HD finish getting ready. But by the time he left and they were fed I was pretty much wide awake.
So I putzed around on the computer, watched Days of Thunder (such a corny movie but enjoyable), read a magazine, putzed on the computer some more. Took a leisurely bath because I thought about going out and then decided I was too tired. So I took a two hour nap.
After that I did the light cleaning because it was possible that a few people from his work were gonna stop by and watch the UFC fights. But we weren't able to get 'em. The ordering system for DirectV was down. So instead we just watched some tv and then he went to bed and I stayed up to watch Over the Hedge. But about an hour into it I was finally tired and crawled into bed too.
Today I slept in until 9:30. Then got up and finished Over the Hedge, watched and played around with the DVD extras and then watched Friends with Money then took another 2 hour nap. I decided to do some more laundry so I threw that in and came on here.
Other than another load or two I doubt I'll do anything else for the rest of the day. I know HD wants to go see Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer so there's a chance we'll do that.
I'm thinking we might have to turn on the AC soon. We still haven't done it yet and temps have been close to ninety for the past week. We spend most of our time in the basement. It's nice and cool down here but when we go to bed it's pretty darn warm. We do open the windows and turn on our fan and it does get nice and cool in the middle of the night. But I don't know how long that'll last.
Well, just found out that we'll be going over to his Dad's house instead. They're gonna feed us, how great is that?! I don't have to figure out anything to cook and then do it. Woo Hoo.
Happy Father's Day to any of you fathers out there.

So not growing pains
You know what I love? I love blaring my music and singing along to it on my way home from work. You know what I hate? When I just had 2 or 3 good songs in a row and then the next is crappy. It ruins the good vibes that were happening. Sucks big time.
My left arm has been hurting for 2 days now. It's the three joints but it feels like the whole arm. It's not rheumatoid arthritis though. Although I guess it's some form of arthritis, now anyway. I've had joint pain since I was 5. In my legs it's mostly my knees but my ankles will hurt from time to time. In my arms it's all three, the shoulder, elbow and wrist. Although the shoulder doesn't happen very often either. Right now it's been my elbow both days but it goes all the way to my hand.
When I was kid the people, including the doctors, tried to say it was growing pains. But when I quit growing and I still had the pains it confirmed what my mom and I always thought, that it wasn't growing pains. But no doctor has ever been able to tell me why I get them. I've had my left knee X-rayed and it showed nothing. I've never had my arms done though, maybe one day I will. When I was kid I'd pop up to 5 aspirin to get rid of it, my tolerance had grown that high. Now 2 Aleve or 2 Motrin will take care of it. But not yesterday or today. It's especially resistant for some reason. There's no rain, no major weather change to cause it. All I know is that's driving me nuts!
Well, I was gonna write some more but we just ordered Chinese for dinner and I gotta go pick it up. So ta ta, have a good one.

Creatures of Habit
It is so true that we're creatures of habit. When I get to work and turn on my computer I always open up the programs I'm going to use throughout the day. But they have to be in a certain order so their tab/button/whatever you want to call it on the bottom bar is in that order. I need my email furthest to the left (sometimes the Internet instead but it doesn't have to be), then it's word, excel, ACT and last is Maxwell. Maxwell is our accounting program and there's times that it'll lock up. So does ACT (a pretty hard program to describe on here so I won't even try). Now when Maxwell locks up, as it did twice today, and I have to close out and open it back up it's no big deal, it's the last one anyway. But when ACT goes down, as it also did today a couple times, it screws up my system. I have to then close down Maxwell to reopen Act because otherwise they're in the wrong order. If I don't do that then I'm constantly clicking on Maxwell when I really want Act and vice versa. It's really annoying.
Also, when I started this job I chose the route on how I was gonna get to and from work and I've stuck with it pretty much non stop. Up until last Monday. There was an accident that was bad enough to close down one of the intersections so I turned onto another road to head West. Turns out that even though I had to back track a bit I still got to work at the same time. So I thought I'd test it out and see if going up that street to begin with would change anything. And it does. Even though there's more traffic lights and I do get the red quite often it's still just as quick if not a little quicker because most of the way it's two lanes so I'm able to get around those friggen slow people who refuse to even go the speed limit. If it weren't for that accident I never would have found out this route is actually better, enough that I won't go back to the old way.
Even our pets have their own habits. Pretty Boy comes into the bathroom every morning while I'm getting ready and plops down right behind my feet. He knows that by doing that I'll kneel down to pet him. But even the days that I"m just too busy won't deter him. He'll come back every day until I do.
Creatures of Habit we are.
Media quote of the day: Listen to me. There is a fly in the studio, and this is not a normal-sized fly. It's a jumbo fly. It has made a habit, now, of flying into my monitors at a great velocity. You would think that at this velocity it would blow apart on impact, but apparently this fly has some sort of protective coating that allows it to come right back at me. - Casey McCall - Sports Night

Talent TV
I'm hungry and should be making dinner right now but I figured if I wanted any time on here at all I have to do it now before HD gets home and kicks me off.
So do any of you watch America's Got Talent? We watched it last year and enjoyed it so we're watching it again this year. We watched the 1st show last night and we're both a little peeved. Now don't get me wrong, I like Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan, The Hoff is ok. But the whole theatrics was just getting on our nerves to no end. If this type of bullshit goes on I don't know if we'll be able to watch it much longer. I know they have to have "drama" and all, especially since it's produced by Simon from American Idol but still. It's a bit much to have Sharon go walking off and then start taking off her false eye lashes and saying she was taking off her makeup because she was done for the evening. And then Simon go walking off behind her all huffing & puffing was just ridiculous.
And I have to say. Although we both really really like what's her name that won last year, Bianca that's it, if the winner will always be someone who sings then it needs to end right now. Because here's the thing, someone who can sing will always trump everyone else. Doesn't matter how well they dance or play guitar or anything else, a singer trumps it all. So as far as I'm concerned last year's winner was a singer, it should be declared that singers are out unless you do something completely different, like the yodeler who came close to winning also. And even then maybe they should have their own category. Because if the winner is a singer this year all they've done is turn this into another American Idol but with sideshows.
But until it annoys the hell out of us we'll be watching.
We're also looking forward to the new Last Comic Standing. Last year was the first one we watched and we're hooked. These are the only two "reality" shows we watch. Oh wait, take that back, we watch the UFC show on Spike. So 3 reality shows. We just can't get into the others. For one we watch too many shows to begin with and the other they annoy him to much. So even if I wanted to watch another one if he were ever around while I was watching he wouldn't be able to help himself and he'd comment left and right to where I couldn't enjoy it anymore. So the 3 we watch are good enough.
Media quote of the day: I'm not. I'm not. Danny, I love her talent. The woman's got millions of fans but there are maybe fifty guys in town who know how good she is and we're two of them. I admire her. I'm knocked out by her talent. And I like it when she makes me laugh, and I like making her laugh, which isn't easy to do, so it's gratifying. She's undeniably sexy. I like it when she smiles at me, and a couple of other things, but that's it. - Matt Albie - Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip Another show that's been canceled and shouldn't have been

I like it when she smiles at me, and a couple of other things, but that's it. - Matt Albie - Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip Another show that's been canceled and shouldn't have been

I'm tired and hungry and I'm stuck in a classroom!
Oh my God I need to get out of here!!!
H Ditty will be going to Mexico in July and I'm sitting here in the classroom at 8:50pm while the teacher and the 7 people who are also going are going over some shit that deals with them going. Now, we got here at 6:30 and went over the basics: the itinerary, luggage, insurance, calling card, etc. etc. After that she had the 7 of them go over to a table and take out all these different items and discuss amongst themselves what these things are and what they may mean and also what they'll mean to them while they're down there. They've been doing this now for a good half hour if not longer and I just heard her say only 3 more things to go over. OH MY GOD!!
I came here straight from work and I haven't had my dinner yet which means I haven't had anything to eat since 12:30. I'm friggin' starving people!! Plus I'm getting very very tired. My eyes are burning.
Two more things now. We're almost there. Woo Hoo!!
He's so damn lucky I love him to stick around. I could have left since we both drove here on our own but I'm not gonna do that to him. Besides, I may make him take me out to dinner now. I mean, he owes me right? Right. Although, I am tired and going out will take that much longer for me to get home. Although, going out means I don't have to make anything for myself or clean up afterward. Yeah, I think it's going out. Even if it's just McDonald's at least I don't have to make it myself.

Fire good, Rain good, It's all good
So I saw Gremlins for the first time last night. It was a midnight showing. I'd seen different scenes before but never the whole thing. It was pretty funny, I enjoyed it.
I also enjoy a good fire. Yesterday my brother's stepdaughter had her 8th grade graduation party. Well, more a cookout with family and some friends. But later in the evening he started up a campfire that those two had prepared the night before. A small group of us sat around it bullshitting before we headed out to see Gremlins. All but my brother were seeing it for the first time. My niece's best friend fell asleep during it but for only about 15 minutes so she didn't miss much.
I also enjoy thunderstorms and the one we just had didn't last nearly long enough. And it also wasn't stormy enough. It came out of nowhere, with the rain coming pretty much straight down and the thunder wasn't close enough to be very loud but at least I still heard it. And now it's back to being sunny as can be like it never even happened.
I have a Pretty Boy that keeps walking back and forth in front of me and head butting me just begging for attention. It's as cute as can be but I wish he'd just lay down already and go to sleep. Once he settles he'll do it in between my arms. Which usually ends up making my left one go a little numb after awhile from lack of movement. Aahh, there he goes. He's now hunkered down and I can open my eyes back up to see what I'm typing.
I just started on the 4th book of Earth's Children. It's the series of books that starts with The Clan of the Cave Bear. It's really a very good series. Much better than I ever expected it to be.
Oh well, that didn't last long. He's back up and walking back and forth again. My face is gonna be all itchy soon. Now he's decided to go hunker down on the couch. All that rubbing on me for nothing. What a damn tease!
The guy who started work at the same time I did was out every day last week. Not sure if he's gonna have a job when he comes back. The only thing that'll save him I believe is if he has a doctor's note. Both bosslady and bossman are showing signs of disappointment in him. Especially since we've been there 5 months now and he's still asking how to do some of the simplest things. And although he called in Tuesday and Wednesday he didn't talk to bossman, he just left a message with the receptionist. On Thursday he had his fiance call in and she did talk to bossman and said that he's still throwing up and that she was taking him to the emergency clinic later that morning. On Friday when no one called in bosslady called the hospital that it would make the most sense that he'd go to and asked if they had a patient with his name. The nurse came back on said that they have someone with that name along with the middle initial of W in their emergency waiting room. Turns out that that is his middle initial. Now that's one of two things. They really didn't go anywhere on Thursday and he decided he better go somewhere on Friday to cover himself. Or they did go to a clinic on Thursday and it didn't help so they decided to go to an actual hospital. I guess we'll find out tomorrow, maybe.
Ya know, it's getting close to a year that I've been doing this. Seems unreal to me. I don't have a whole lot of steady readers but that's ok. I didn't get into it for the readers, although I appreciate you all, I got into for a sort of diary/journal of my ordinary little life. Every time I start doing one on paper it would only last for a maybe a week and then I stop. And even then I didn't do it every day for that week. Although I don't come on here and write every day either it's much more steady. Plus it's much more faster than writing by hand, that's for sure.
Oh well, I guess that's it for now. I'm gonna go find something to do.

Sorta sad
Happy Memorial Day everyone.
My day will be spent writing this, reading the sites I haven't been to in awhile (or at least just 1 or 2 entries), mowing the lawn and doing a little shopping. There will be no gathering at anyone's home for me. H Ditty has to work until 6pm, sucks to be him.
We saw the 3rd Pirates movie yesterday afternoon. It was good, enjoyed it quite a bit. It wasn't as good as the 1st but it was better than the 2nd. Which was the same for Shrek 3.
Ya know, it's kind of sad after you're done watching an anticipated movie or tv show. Sometimes even a book, such as the Harry Potter ones. It's not the big build up/bad let down thing I'm talking about. It's the Christmas Day thing. You spend all this time looking forward to something, anticipating how good it's going to be and it is. Sometimes even better than what you thought. But after it's all done you're sad, because it's over and there's nothing more to look forward to. You can watch/read it again but it doesn't hold the same wonder as it did before. You can enjoy it for something else because now that you know how it ends you can look for other things that you might have missed the 1st time but still it's sort of a let down. I'm not explaining it very well, at least I don't think I am. But that's sort of how I felt on the way home from the theater yesterday. Sometimes it's a feeling of wanting more and that is also how I was feeling yesterday. I'd like them to do a 4th but it should be it's own movie, not part of this one.
Damn, once again I had a few ideas of what to write about and now I can think of the others. So I guess I'll have to think of something else.
We've caught up on all the shows we watch except for Desperate Housewives. We finally went to do that one the other day. We have 5 of them and when I went to the oldest one and we're looking at the previously on portion to get reacquainted with it there's scenes that we never saw. It turns out that when I set this show up to record I set to only save 5 showings. As a new one would be recorded the oldest would be let go. Before when we were keeping up it wasn't a big deal but when we started getting behind I forgot the setting was like that and never changed it. So now we have to figure out where we left off and watch the shows online. Oh well.
We're both pretty pissed that Jericho got canceled. That was great show and deserved a lot more people watching it then were.
For any of you who happen to watch UFC. Did you watch the Liddell vs. Jackson on Saturday? Wow what an ending!! Actually all of the fights. I think that was the best show ever. Usually there's one or two fights that are boring as all get out but every one of these were something to watch.
Well, I still can't think of the other things I wanted to write about and it's getting late in the morning so if I'm going to get done everything that I need to today I better get going. Have a great day everyone.

My boring life right now
Let's see, where to begin...
I still haven't downloaded the pictures from Lee's karate competition yet. Don't know when I will so I doubt I'll put any pic's up. So be it.
We were supposed to go to HD's grandma's house Sunday evening but turns out his aunt and uncle, who were in town from Colorado, had already left so there was no reason to go anymore. So we stayed home and vegetated.
Monday his stepmom wanted to go see Shrek the Third for her belated Mother's Day gift so we did that. It was pretty good. It's not as good as the first one, probably better than the second one though.
Tuesday we stayed home again. Caught up on some more season finales.
And tonight, well, I'm not sure what's gonna happen tonight. He hasn't made it home yet but as far as I know we have no plans.
Tomorrow, if he's able to leave early we'll be going to see Shrek again. My employers have booked a theater for the 7pm showing for just our company's employees. Which means all of us get to see it for free. So as long as he can get out early (which I just got a call from him, sounds like he can) we'll have a dinner and movie date.
So that's my life right now, pretty mundane, nothing exciting happening or gonna happen. At least not right away.

The Karate Kid
My nephew Lee had his first karate tournament today. He had to do two rounds of Kata, which from what I can tell is a routine, and two rounds of basics.
The basics are just as it sounds. The middle judge (there's 3 of them) will call out something like a front kick or a block or something like that and the two kids have to do four of them and on the fourth they do their shout. There were 9 kids in his group (he was in the 10-11 year old boys, orange belt). Two go up at once and compete against each other. The 3 judges then hold up either a white or red flag of the kid they think did the best. The middle judge raised the red flag both times Lee was up but the other two raised white flags. His color was red so therefore he lost in basics, didn't place at all but of course, as far as I'm concerned he should've won. At least against the first kid he was up against. The second kid seemed to do slightly better.
In the Kata they did the same thing. Two kids up against each other. They could choose whatever routine they wanted and could do the same one more than once if they so chose to. I took pictures of his first time up so I didn't see the other kids at all. But apparently he kicked ass because all three judges chose him. Some thing on the second round. That time though I only took a couple pictures because I wanted to see the other kid.
I haven't downloaded the pictures yet. We're supposed to be going over to HD's grandma's house real soon. So maybe if we're not there too late or tomorrow I'll get them up.

Found this on Yahoo, it's pretty cute. It's also an easy entry since I don't quite feel like writing anything yet.

Migraines and Mother's Day
You know what sucks? It sucks to wake up with a friggen migraine. I get headaches more often than I like, bad headaches every couple of months and migraine headaches maybe a couple/few times a year. I didn't used to though, they started maybe 4 or 5 years ago, on a regular basis anyway.
Today I woke up just fine when H Ditty's alarm went off. After he got up he made sure all 3 of the cats were out the room and shut the door for me to be able to sleep some more. I usually don't fall back asleep, I usually doze at the most. But today I actually did sleep and when my alarm went off, my head was aching pretty badly. But I got up anyway and started to get ready for work. While washing my hair I started to get nauseous and ended up upchucking. And instead of feeling better afterward I felt worse. So I called in and let them know I wasn't going in. We have some strong headache medicine that a friend of ours left (he gets migraines too) so I took it and crawled back into bed. Slept until close to ten then dozed on and off until close to 11 when I finally felt like I could get back up.
I took a nice warm bath and that actually seemed to help some more. My head still hurts but not as bad as this morning. I'd say it's still migraine strength though but at least the light doesn't hurt as much as it did earlier and I'm not nauseous anymore.

So how was your Mother's Day? Ours was pretty darn good. When I learned the weather was supposed to be pretty mild on Sunday I asked HD what he thought about having both of our families over to our house for a cookout. He like the idea and agreed so we invited everyone and started planning it. We ended up changing the venue though to have it at his grandma's house. She's got a larger house and huge backyard that would be better for a bunch of kids to run around in.
My two brothers who have kids couldn't commit to a specific time on when they'd show up and for how long they'd be able to stay but they did say they'd come. My oldest brother never called back but he had something like 3 or 4 messages between myself, HD and my mom and he did eventually show up. His sisters and their boyfriends made it. He also decided to invite Jim, Amy, their two kids and Caryn and her son. So we had 9 mothers there in total which included his grandma of course.
His family mostly stayed in doors which kind of irked me but oh well. I joked at one point early on that they were anti-social. No one said anything to him at all about it so I hope they did realize I was only joking. But over all it turned out really nice. The food was good, the company was good and the kids got along and had a great time playing together.
At one point I organized a game of kickball with the kids and it just naturally turned out girls vs. boys with me as designated pitcher. They played to 30 points. At one point during the 2nd inning there were 5 girls against only 3 boys, oh wait, actually I think it was 6 girls against 3 boys. But the boys still won 30 to 25. They wanted to play again so rather than boys vs. girls we had two captains. One was his sister who had the baby and the other was my niece. He and I ended up on opposite teams, his sister's boyfriend was on hers and two of my brothers ended up one on each team, along with all but two of the kids that had played earlier. One of my nephews and Caryn's son didn't want to play anymore.
My first kick was a high one and got caught immediately. My next time up I thought I kicked it perfectly. It was a straight kick between 2nd and 3rd base and my teammate was in the right position while running to make it impossible for my brother to catch it in the air. When I started out running I realized how bad my foot was and started to half run half hobble to 1st base. I knew I had to make it there quickly so I sort of half dove half fell to it. I even grassed up my left knee and ended up laying on the ground with my left hand on the plate. But he had already gotten the runner out, at least I think that's what happened. I'm not actually sure, all I know is that we had made our 2nd out (we were only playing w/ 2 outs to make the games go faster) so we were done. I did all that for nothing. But it was fun. But in our 3rd inning one of the brothers had to leave because it was going on 6:45 and he had to take two of his kids back to their mom's house. My team lost, can't remember the score though.
By 7:30 or so just about everyone else started to head out. The last ones there were me and HD, my oldest brother, his youngest sister and her boyfriend and Jim and Amy. Oh yeah, his mom also. We stood around talking outside until almost 9:30 when we finally made ourselves leave. I was exhausted, so was he and we were both pretty sore. Many of you have seen the pictures of us on here, we're not the most in shape people to put it mildly.
It ended up being a great day and I'm glad I thought about and he agreed. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and there were no fights which was even better. We'll have to do it again sometime. Maybe have everyone chip in next time though, it was not a cheap cookout.

Stuff
From my comments:
Wow reading that made me tired. I think I need a nap. It sounds like you were fun busy though rather than stressful busy. That always helps!
Natalie - tell me about it. We were both completely exhausted by Friday night. As mentioned we were in bed by 9:30 and sleeping soundly by 9:45.
Been sort of busy again but not as much. I just haven't had the chance to get on here again. I really, really want my own computer again. Soon though, we'll probably be getting a laptop.

So there's a few things that have been bugging me this week.
- I drive past a bunch of fields on my to and from work. Quite often I see deer in at least one of them. Usually 3 or so times a week, whether be in the am or pm, doesn't matter, there's usually a couple or so grazing. Not this week, not one sighting. And I'm quite peeved about it. I need my deer fix.
- People are bugging me again because they can't seem to drive 55. Twice this week I've gotten stuck behind an asshat in the left lane barely going 55. Come on people, if you're in the left lane you're supposed to be going over the limit not at it or under it!!
- I haven't been able to get on here, that always irks me. And yes, sometimes it's my own doing. I don't push for it, but that's because I'm so tired of doing everything else that by the time I'm able to sit and relax I don't want to have to think of anything to write about because everything I've already thought about has left my head because I'm so damn tired
- I hate working in an office. Everyone I work with is great, it's amazing how there isn't one person that really bugs me or that I don't like. But that's not the point. I just don't want to work in an office anymore. I wanna work in a book store, preferably my own store, but that'll never happen.
But what I do like is Korn. Listening to them on the way home driving behind the asshats is theraputic.
OK, gotta go, dinner is ready.

Busy Busy Bees
Man have we been busy. I mean, we really haven't DONE a whole lot, we just haven't been home much or when we were home were doing things. Except for last Saturday. Last Saturday was a day of relaxing, all day long. But every other day we were doing things.
I can't remember what we did Friday night, we might have actually relaxed that night too but I really can't remember. Oh now I remember. We met some of his work friends out at a restaurant to hang out and watch the Bulls and have a few drinks and some food. After that we went over to a bar to have a few more drinks. I had some long islands and a few shots, I was feeling good. After that we went over to one of the guy's home to see what they call "The Dungeon" It's basically his enclosed patio that he built himself. It's pretty damn nice, I want it!
We didn't get home until 3ish, maybe, can't quite remember. But I do know I didn't get into bed until around 4. I woke up the first time around 8 and then dozed on and off until around 9:30 when I couldn't sleep anymore. Which really really sucks. I ended up taking an hour doze/nap from 12:30 to 1:30 which is when H Ditty got up and I wasn't able to nap anymore. So yeah, Saturday was a lazy day.
Sunday we had Jim, Amy and their two kids over. Amy's birthday is at the end of March and Jim's is in April and we hadn't done anything for them so we had them over for a cook out and to play some games. It was such a beautiful day out that we stayed outside for it all. They left around 8:30 or so.
Monday after we both worked all day we changed clothes, had a quick bite to eat and went right back out to do some shopping. Although it seems like we did something in between but I can't remember. Doesn't matter anyway. We didn't get home until late evening/early night however you want to look at it. Watched one show and then went to bed.
Tuesday our counseling session was at 7 rather than 8 so we did the same thing. Both got home from work, ate a half a bologna sandwich each and went to the session. This time neither sister came. Although the youngest had somewhat of an excuse. The baby was really gassy and crying and screaming quite a bit so she didn't want to bring her out. After that we took his mom out to dinner. Didn't get home until close to 10.
Wednesday morning he went fishing out on the lake with his buddy who has a boat and I went to work. Came home to a wonderful surprise. He had mowed the lawn and put down the weed killer we had bought on Monday. Made me very happy. He really hates mowing the lawn and for him to do weed killer on top of it was just wonderful!
We had decided to go see Hot Fuzz and it was starting at 7:10 so we had to leave right away again, not even enough to time to eat anything. His mom met us there. It was pretty good. It was done by the two guys who did Shaun of the Dead. If you haven't seen either one you really should. But first see Sean of the Dead. It's a spoof on zombie movies but done in a serious way, kind of like the Evil Dead and Army of Darkness movies. Great stuff.
But once again, we didn't get home until late. So on our way home I told HD that on Thursday we weren't going anywhere and no one was coming over. We needed another day of rest. So Thursday night was spent relaxing once again in front of the tv catching up on the shows.
Bones was great once again. The Office was funny as hell once again. Lost is just awesome. Love, love, love me some Hurly!! And Grey's Anatomy was really good. The spinoff looks like it might pretty good too. Love everyone on there and as any of you who read my 100 list knows, I love me some Taye Diggs too. He is one hot hunka man, I tell you! Mmmm mmmm good!
Last night was more of the same. Just relaxing again catching up on more shows. Got to see me Dana White too who is also mmmm mmmm good. We were both so exhausted after this week that we were in bed by 9:30. Can you believe it? Me, who used to stay up till midnight because I wouldn't get tired until then, was in bed by 9:30. And I slept through the night for the most part. Woke up a few times though to roll over or take the covers off when I got hot or put them back on when I got chilled. Also once because Cry Baby took over my pillow and I woke up with my neck kind of hurting because of the position my head was in to accommodate him. It's amazing what I do in my sleep for these cats.
I've been up now since 5:30. HD has to work today so I've actually been awake since 4:50 when his alarm went off. After a few snoozes he got up and started getting ready and I stayed in bed. But I couldn't sleep anymore and besides, I really really had to pee. So I did that, fed the kitties, helped him finish getting ready for work and then came on the computer to finally go through some of my emails that I was neglecting throughout the week and then finally come on here and update.
Today I plan on going to a few sites, only reading the most recent posts (that's the plan, don't know if I'll stick to that, once I get reading sometimes I just don't stop) and then taking a leisurely bath while reading my book. After that it's back out on the road to do some errands. One of those includes going up to the theater and buying our 7:30pm showtime tickets for Spiderman 3. I know it seems to be getting mixed reviews but there's no way in hell we're gonna miss it. I really wanted to go last night but with him working today we couldn't go to a later showing and there's no way we would've been able to get into a 7 o'clock showing.
Anyway, that was our busy week and the reasons why I haven't updated until now. Hope it wasn't too boring for you.

Boy did I fall behind
Sorry, I've been really bad with the updates again. I've been pretty busy lately and haven't had a chance to come on here at all. I'll try to get something up tonight.
See you 'round.

Slow drivers are a pain in my ass
Ok, so there's very little I hate more than tailgaters. And I certainly hate it when I realize I'm doing it myself. But today I just couldn't help it. I was cruising along, going my usual 10 over on my last stretch of the drive home, right? Right. Well, I get through the 2nd to the last light before I have to turn off of this road. I'm coming up on a car in the left lane and a van in the right. The van is slightly ahead of the car but the cars gaining on it, slowly but surely. So I put on my signal and get over to the left lane long before I should even begin to have to put on my brakes. I'm getting closer and closer to the car and when I'm practically right on top of it I finally notice that it's no longer gaining on the van. It's front end is nose to ass with the van (you know what I mean).
So I get close but still a respectable distance away. But close enough to let them know I want to get past so either speed up and get over or slow down and get over, right? Right. But no, this dumb ass stays right where he is so I get a little closer and a little closer to encourage him doing one or the other. Eventually I can't get any closer for him to do anything else BUT to speed up and get over. But nope no way.
The speed limit is 55, this dumbass was doing maybe 53. I was not a happy camper.
Very steadily the van started inching ahead. I thought about getting over but figured I better wait to make sure they'll even get ahead enough for me to go around. It did and two other cars actually did go around but by that time I was so pissed at the asshat in front of me I stayed where I was. I did back off enough to a pretty respectable distance but was still too close for the speeds we were going. Good thing there was no one else around I could've darted into the right lane if I needed to.
People, if you're going to only go the speed limit or under it even, get the fuck over into the right lane. That's what it's there for.
